  1. Thanks Seems to be down to the voltage setting output for ignition, hoping tomorrow I will just find a blown efi fuse or something..... Or I am looking for a new car !
  2. oh bugger, read somewhere about a jumper setting not being correct, changed it, just killed my car!! Ignition turns the whole car off now....assumedly I have blown a fuse somewhere?
  3. I'm not too confident anyone knows this but..... Trying to hook up my emanage blue onto my 3sfe. It gets power, but when the unit is plugged in it the car won't ignite and start (it will without it hooked up). Maybe the harness, however has ANYONE got an idea of the rotary settings and variance to the jumper settings for the 3SFE? Currently it's on 3/4/2 - 3 as 4 cylinder 2 coil injector (I believe) the other to are from any info I have gleaned.... If anyone has set up a emanage blue on a 3sfe and got it working, can you remeber what settings you used? At least then I would know it wasn't the settings that are stopping it fire. Thanks
  4. Do you mind me asking who you use? Always good to know decent ones full stop in the area
  5. Very true! Don't have to worry until October, but as mapping soon, figured might be easier if I was going to have one to do it soonish.
  6. Cat to pass emissions. TBH never really used the other way, and am new to south wales so don't know any happy go lucky mot testers..... Emissions annoy me, completely agree on the mot fails that means my vehicle is dangerous, but I would do more harm to the environment buying a new car than keeping going with an older car that isn't as efficient.....
  7. Just trying to get myself clear on the rules around cats and emissions.... 1) 2001 onwards regs need a type approved, but pre that doesn't so mine is fine witha universal cat, right? 2) There seems to be something about an eu safety mark that should be on them? or will fail MOT? 3) My SSI isn't on the list of vehicles on the emissions list, so the non-listed values are used aren't they? May have just missed that, the ST and GT are on but known of the imports it seems ? Not a lot of difference in what is needed to pass mind.... fitting an emanage plus wideband sensor to mine so kinda assuming emissions will be easier to pass as can create an emission friendly tune?...
  8. Brilliant , thanks, will check others out. Longlife were quoting 300 for cat and fitting, which seemed a lot...will call around a few others. Edit: eBay says £100 off for the magnaflow ones, though confused over the bit about not legal for post 2001 cars, though that's not effecting me...
  9. Hey guys. Anyone got thoughts on sports cat? Currently running 2.5" straight pipe, and will need a cat for emissions. They seem pretty pricey on jetex and through longlife (£300) but guessing that's the price of ones that have a hope of getting me through emissions ? Not sure if its better to buy one online and try to find someone who will weld it in, or just get longlife to do it.... Any thoughts ?
  10. Removed it for the moment, just replaced with straight pipe.
  11. Going to do without bov for now I think as start ensuring boost before adding bits that effect it. Boost gauge only therefore off the map sensor, but will open up the blanking plate and have it coming from there. Bov can go back on when happy with how it boosts. Will be doing that early tomorrow morning though !
  12. Thanks There's a blanking plate I have found, so reckon I can take tht off and see if there is screw in nipple bit can use there. Ah, thanks
  13. Cool, that's first issue down ! ok, guessing the screw is too loose as well so spring is loose... Btw, bugger all vacuum places on 3sfe throttle body! Egr sensor has vacuum from throttle body, not sure if before or after flap, will check
  14. Hi, have a apexi bov, but I can't have set it up right. Tried to attain boost in my car (st202 3sfe + turbo) but when it reaches boost the bov kicks in and releases pressure. So not getting boost! The vacuum pipe is running from gauge to map sensor t-off, and it has a screw adjustment. It was second hand so no instructions ! Nice sound mind
  15. Got you, thanks Output comes from gauge into emanage. The built in warning versions, does that feed a signal to the ecu then to disable throttle, or just flash up to warn that a/f is outside set parameters, get your damn foot off the pedal! Thanks for your advice btw, gratefully received! Think I am going to enjoy understanding tuning, numerical analysis is my day job
  16. Another question if anyone knows..... So, the sensor to the emanage can be built quite easily without buying the official one http://emanageforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=89 So I assume what I need to do is........ a) Get a hole and bung welded into my exhaust stick wideband in there c) run cables out d) split cables e) run one set to the Gauge f) run the other to the emanage connector I guess I could ignore the gauge and just log straight into emanage though, for tuning purposes, though the gauge sounds handy to view realtime.
  17. Question on this, as I have often thought if I end up getting a GT4, wouldn't mind an imported or importing one....my brother lives in japan, speaks Japanese and my sister-in-law is native Japanese her self, if I convinced them to act on my behalf over there do you think this starts to become more doable? Or still not worth the pain and money ?
  18. Got yah, cool if I knows it's in that one will find it cheers buddy. Edit: how many times do I want to answer myself....
  19. Got yah, cool if I knows it's in that one will find it cheers buddy. Got yah, cool if I knows it's in that one will find it cheers buddy.
  20. Ok you can laugh at me, but before I do this, which one is efi fuse?? Shouldn't be allowed alone with an engine
  21. Hi, hopefully this is easy but need an answer addressed to an idiot. Need to oil my turbo before starting engine running. Can I just pull the ht leads and turn the key, or will that flood the engine with fuel? Is there a better way of doing it ? Just need to check oil is flowing through turbo before starting the turbine spinning
  22. Brilliant, thanks. Need to go down this route as cant in the right studs anywhere , the ones I ordered ended up being course any way even though I said I needed fine. Thanks
  23. How do you do it? Cut up a bolt ? Edit: actually not sure why I did not think off that. Cut the head off a bolt...
