  1. Was travelling down the A421 earlier today went for a gear change and completely lost all power. Couldnt get it in any gear so coasted to a halt on the hard shoulder. was able to get it in gear and get back home, then drove to toyota and dropped it off with them. Gave them a rang now and they think its the clutch itself not the actual cable. They said it could either be the plate, friction plate or bearings. They said that the cables were fine and there was enough fluid in the system. The previous owner had a clutch fitted not long before I had the car but I have a suspicion that it was a hunk of you know what. They originally quoted me £800 plus £100 an hour for a 5 hour job, they lowered their quote for £614 all in. But was wondering if anyone could give me any help with it? Should I try to find a clutch from someone like ams or nix or should i have a new one supplied by them at £614 which seems like a lot. Although be it I dont know the cost for something like this. EDIT: I have a 2004 04 T Sport
  2. I know that there are a fair few members on here who snow foam their cars and after looking into it for a while have decided to give it a go myself. Been looking at ordering from autobrite, not sure if theyre good or bad but im sure if anyone has used them they will give me a review for them. Was looking at a foam lance and snow foam combo. I wash the car once a week if not twice due to the dirty weather, so the dirt isnt too heavy and comes off quite quickly. So just wondering if anyone could voice their opinion on both the company and the product im looking at buying, links below. Cheers Alex http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/index.php/bestsellers/autobrite-hd-foam-lance-magifoam-combo.html
  3. Thanks for the advice guys, decided to go for Autoglym used them for a couple of years now both on my fiat grande punto and of course my current celica t sport Will post up pics tomorrow as provided weather wise it goes ok will be doing it then
  4. Thought id turn to my fellow petrol heads and celica enthusiasts alike. Earlier this week cleaned my chilli red t sport and then gave her a wax aswell. Then today cleaned the car and had already decided i wanted to clean the inside of the alloys and wheel arches. They were absolutely filthy and has left this gunk on the road which I still need to get off although does look clean now. Ive got a couple of questions really, Ive got a lot of tar on my alloys on the face of them. But then on the inside of the alloys ive got a lot of dirt and grit. It hasnt really come off very well after being power washed at close range and also autoglym clean wheels. Just wondered if anyone knew of anything to clean them up a bit better? Also my third question is with regards to the engine bay. Have decided after topping her up with oil today that I need to clean inside there aswell as it clearly hasnt been done within the 8 years its been around. Ive got a little bit of money soon so will be investing in some more cloths and cleaning stuff etc etc specifically for the engine bay. So just wondering really what people use for this job. Cheers Alex

  10. Finally got a wave back today. ...but I reckon that celica drivers are so concentrated on overtaking the car in front or spotting the next apex that they dont have time to wave?
  11. Had mine now since saturday. Must have waved at about 6 different ones but nobody ever waves or flashes me back O.o
