  1. Saving of £150 if you do it yourself? Get the trolly jack out!
  2. Probably not far short of 3K in the 3-years I have had it. Which in my opinion is not too bad for getting a 23-year old car to drive like it should
  3. 3 years on Wednesday Still obsessed with it and no plans to part just yet
  4. Feel for you mate. I hope the B*stards house burnt down when he got home. (That's why I leave the DVR running when parked in public places).
  5. Happy Anniversary thermoacc!

  6. Toyota/Lexus world in Cardiff have been good with me. Then again, I dont use them for servicing, just parts and consumables
  7. Think I paid about 30p each for plug washers. I Bought 5 of 'em when ordering service parts from Japarts http://www.japarts.co.uk/shop/index.php?sh=search&make=10&model=CELICA Between Japarts, TCB, Ebay and my local motor factors I have not failed on getting any service parts
  8. Xtreme rust prevention That happened in a car I had years ago. Just went out and got a new boot carpet from a breakers
  9. I have had a few shoe sets over the years where the lining is too thick. Mostly on Fords though What is the lining spec on the Celi? 2mm?
  10. I bought a set of these years ago (the 4-socket set) and have come in handy on more than one occasion! http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/locking-wheel-nut-remover-2pc?da=1&TC=SRC-locking+wheel+nut
  11. Not sure about the battery life as mine is constantly plugged in. It comes with a 12V cig plug
  12. Been using this one for 2-weeks now in the work car. http://www.maplin.co.uk/in-car-720p-camera-with-g-sensor-and-2.4inch-colour-screen-854443 Pretty good recording quality compared to my previous £30 ebay jobbie
  13. I think the 056 is similar to the 005. Check the dimensions though, especially the height and terminals. I dont know the Gen5/6 battery tray difference
  14. Minimum of 450CCA. Aim for a batt thats rated over 500CCA IMO.
  15. ^^Bosch Calcium Silver. Have one in my diesel now for over 5-years OEM (145k) and still going strong. Varta in the Celica is 4-years old and still ok.
  16. Hmmmmm Probably run like a bag of sh*t, but it should IMO. Disconnect all the vac's and have a test beforehand
  17. Yeah, I get that. It probably stems from my Mk2 Escort days with steel wheels. Nuts welding themselvs to the wheel! Been looking at a few discussions on the subject since. Interesting..... Cheers
  18. Hmmmm, that last statement made me think a bit on using copper grease with wheel fastners. Maybe it's not such a good idea afterall. I have done this, probably on every car I have had over the last 25 odd years. I have never had a wheel seize nor come loose, but when thinking on the physics of the fastner, I think it is better avoided. I'll stop using it on the hub/wheel mounting surface too. Hands up.......bad advice
  19. I would not take them anywhere over 100Nm. Edit- Oh, and a little copper grease on the taper and thread when fitting too
  20. I was miserable as hell when I sold my Sierra sapph. Probably for over a month! I use a diesel estate for work, but recommend you get another Celica to keep you sane
  21. Would never stick it on the car, but I do like!
  22. Bad luck mate. I was hoping it was something easy, so sorry to hear this. Good luck on the new lump though
  23. I would not recommend a Celica to anyone that either dont have deep pockets or dont know how to work on cars
