aye, I bet snowtyres on the RAV makes it a beast!
I tend not to take the car out really if the snow's too bad.
I remember last year seeing lots of cars struggling to get up a relatively shallow hill...
Can't be anywhere near as bad as the 'weather' you get oop in bonny Scotland

no and no.
good to know.
don't have the spare cash to spend on winter tyres though will just have to drive slowly and hope for the best.
Insurance companies just get more and more ridiculous
How would fitting Winter tyres to you car in Winter make any difference to your insurer, it's not like you are going to fit massive 20" chrome spinners with Winter tyres onto a car that runs all year on steelies
It would make more sense if you had to declare if you were running on ditch finders rather than a decent mid/top range tyre
because obviously if you're sensible enough to splash out to buy winter tyres to keep yourself safe, then you'll want your car to be able to handle like it's on rails while speeding around like a nutter on icy roads.

I can cause collateral damage, er and I need a new gaitor plus I broke one of the white plastic fittings in the back of the console when changing the stereo.
sorry to hear that

could you not have just bought a replacement door?
-
Haha you're the type of bloke who buys a 50 inch TV aren't you Steve & sticks it in the window?! No substitute for class my good man.
well, they make them that big, so it'd be silly not to....
Doing the heat calcs it's already too big! it should push out 7.5kw on full chat, did a small break in burn last night & holy shit it was fooking hot.
Might even write a letter to British Gas just simply stating - "F*ck You"
good stuff! they are very efficient with their heat output. I predict your purchasing of marshmallows will increase now too!
-
ace.
my ex's parents had a woodburner in their front room... that thing pumped out heat, it was amazing!
It loos a bit small in that fireplace though. Shoulda bought a bigger one

not car related... but my new chain and sprockets arrived for the pocket rocket
-
and get a photobucket account so you can post full-size pictures

using a high quality wrap is no doubt the best advice I can give you.
i've not done it myself, but from reading lots of horror stories, it's better to spend a little extra to get the proper Hexis wrap, compared to being tight and buying something cheap and cheerful from a random eBay seller.

"Stuff about being stupid and throwing away wanted items and thus having to buy new bits"
I would have a laugh at your stupidity but..... A few years back I somehow managed to lose a couple of hundred pounds worth of Fireblade top end parts during a workshop clear out and putting the wrong box in the wheely bin (on collection night) by being in a hurry to keep the work bench clear after being called in for dinner....
eek... that can't have been a good feeling!!!

@Steve, the sort of ageing actions not expected in youth.
i know
I really have no idea why I threw away the functioning bulb. I'm normally a bit of a hoarder for stuff like that.
I definitely won't be doing it again!!
-
I received 2 headlight adapters for my bike.
It seems that for some reason (which goes against all usual Japanese simplicity), Honda tells you to use H7 bulbs, but doesn't actually make the plug for the bulbs the correct size... so you need to use these £15 each adapters.
One of my bulbs blew the other week, and when throwing it away, Clever Steve didn't actually realise that there was an adapter connected to the bulb... I wanted to get the MTec bulbs too, so I was going to change both bulbs at the same time, so I decided to throw both bulbs away... complete with their adapters.
*sigh*
I'm normally quite observant and careful, and I'm not really sure why I decided to throw away one perfectly functioning bulb.... I guess I just wanted the two new ones to go in at the same time.
Anyway... this is what £30's worth of headlight bulb adapters look like

ooooh, tempting....
-
no-one in their right mind would buy that heap of crap though
i hope...

Persuaded to the missus to let me keep the celica and get a 200sx lol.
epic

i don't think breaking it will get you much extra once you factor in all the time and effort that goes in to removing parts and having to find stock bits to replace them with...
Plus it's not like you've got a huge amount of mods.... You could maybe sell the Apexi N1 and Tanabe Strut Brace seperately if you can get a stock exhaust put back on, but those items might make it stand out more from the crowd of other t-sports for sale.
£4-4.5k looks like a fair sum I'd have thought.

Ha quality quip sir LOL
why thank you Sir.
i have my moments.

check your connections and lube em up with a bit o'vaseline
edit:
...err... lube the connections, not the Police.
they don't appreciate that.
2nd edit:
when they're on duty, anyway.

either the Fiat and BMW owners don't understand what JDM means, and they just assume it's something to do with tuning...
...or it's a tongue in cheek pisstake towards Jap car owners.
Although my Celica isn't an 'import', it did have a small 'Made in Japan' sticker in the top corner of the windscreen; so technically.......
