  1. focus green is great and look closely at one and there a orange flick in it
  2. lol say the man who had a snow plough on the front. everyone to their own. i say their is too many celicas with the same colours. is there any yellow celicas out there??
  3. your car will have a clear coat has it will be 2 pack paint. if it didnt it would look like matt paint. if you want sparkle in your base coat then get a completely different colour ie.. from another paint code. theres loads out there but i would go with a blue pearl over a candy red base coat. why not even try flip paint but a lot more expensive and more difficult to lay down. or just go with your cars original paint code it would lok new but original?
  4. you put the flakes in the clear coat m8 and make sure you measure the amount for each paint cup and have the right size needle on the hvlp spraygun thats big enough to let flakes through but not too much. i cant remember what size. i resprayed my car using 1.4 mm needle.
  5. the thing is if you change from using semi synthetic to fully synthetic it could possibly make your engine leak oil. without going into to much detail it basicly melts the build up which would be sealing seals etc. therefore leak. so best thing to do is just stick with semi synthetic therefore get the part protection hence (semi synthetic) as to fully synthetic in newer car with newer piston rings etc..
  6. i found this article while reading about oils and additives then came across this: Toyota sludge problems For their part, Toyota have the dubious honour of having the most complaints about sludge buildup in their engines - 3,400 at the last count. At the time of writing there is a class action suit going on against them. Details can be found at www.oilgelsettlement.com Read more: http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html#ixzz1HjZWBZPB
  7. buy a richbrook discarnet. it goes on the battery post and just unscrew the knob so it cant be started and it comes with a fuse so it keeps your alarm and clock and small electrics going. might be worth trying.
  8. hi dont want to be rude but where did you get your name

  9. those are the mr2. someone dont know what there on about
  10. thats like saying a acura is not a honda or a lexus is not a toyota
  11. just been looking at the new celica and i am surprised at it will have the boxer engine of a subaru. i think it will be this one but this is very nice Powering the coupe will be a Subaru 2.0 liter flat-4 engine with 200hp and 145 lb-ft. of torque. Road and Track is predicting that the car will weigh in at about 2700 lbs. That would make this a pretty quick car pushing 0-60mph around 6 seconds or better. The base engine will likely be coupled with a six-speed manual and an optional automatic transmission. Talk of a premium celica gt4 turbocharged version and the plans that it will deliver over 300 horsepower.
  12. if we keep changing/replacing parts then that means most of the bits on a gen 5 are newer than any celica on the road. so in theory our cars are the newest and sexiest. i havnt lost my sense of humour just trying to save valuable time and money.
  13. back to the recall does anybody know if it has affected them? i put this article on and has been turned into a war. a celica is a celica think yourselfs lucky the name has carried on for years and maybe soon there will be another to carry a well known name on for many years to come.
  14. was looking at a recall for our lasses seat ibiza and came across toyota recalls. so here goes: Recall: No. 1 of 2 Recall Ref: R/2004/168 Exact Model: Celica Corolla and MR2 Description: Brake fluid may leak VIN: Build Date: Numbers: 6908 Defect: Due to an improper washing process of a metal part within the brake master cylinder, there is a possibility that the groove for installing the rubber seal ring, which is located at the end of the mast cylinder, may be corroded. In this condition, brake fluid may leak from the seal, or a small amount of air may enter the master cylinder, which could lead to an increase in vehicle stopping distance. Action: Vehicles that are likely to be affected will be checked and a quality assured part fitted if necessary. Launch Date: 25 April 2005 Recall: No. 2 of 2 Recall Ref: R/2003/030 Exact Model: Description: POSSIBLE FUEL SPILLAGE WHEN PETROL CAP IS OPENED VIN: JTDDR38T#00133333 to JTDDR38T#00151427, JTDDY38T#00059144 to JTDDY38T#00064700 Build Date: Numbers: 2440 Defect: The check valve in the fuel tank inlet that prevents reverse fuel flow is incorrectly fitted on some vehicles. This could cause fuel to spill out when the cap is opened if there is high internal pressure in the fuel tank. Action: Correctly fit the check valve or, if necessary, replace the fuel tank and check valve. Launch Date: 12 March 2003
  15. like someone said above a different rim size does affect the speedo because it takes a bit more rotation. so something like 18/19 inch would probally dramatically change the speedo rating as most cars are fitted with 16s as standard
