  10. i remember reading something like fast car magazine years ago when i was a young loon with a peco big bore exhaust and thought i could beat everything in a 1 litre beasty. but anyway i saw a fiesta with dials with a picture of his car on the dial faces. only just remembered and not sure if anyone on here does it? i got a link and before you say it,i know its not a celica but a rough idea on what to do. you could have any picture naked lassie, your car or boringly your wife or mine at a cost? heres the link custom gauges
  11. i love it why do foreign countries have the maddest motors???
  12. im being positive here because its the only way forward and im not after sympothy as there are a lot worse out there. im still in hospital just got our lass to fetch laptop as its boring in here. i lost my eye sight in 1 eye but they still poke and prod with allsorts and just want to get home (not long now though). i also asked doctor if the right eye sight would ever come back and he said unlikely but not impossible. what does this mean? i have thought of giving up on fixing cars but its my hobby and a living i also enjoy it too much. the gen 5 has had too much work to give up and sell. maybe next car i buy should include new eyeballs. im not sure if my insurance will go up or what but will find out. cheers now im of to chat nurses up
  13. cheers again people. it wasnt pas fluid alone that did it. it was a previous cut to my pupil from grinding and the pas fluid has managed to get in. i didnt even know there was a cut untill now. so maybe any oil will do harm so its worth protecting your eyes anyway. especially reading through this and so many of you have done the same. theres so many chemicals in the oils to do the damge. im not going to let this stop me building my beast and let nature take its course. thanks for your support and maybe now i can get away with doing the dishes or get pissed quicker because i got one eye who knows? cheers and remember others mistakes
  14. Thanks all for your support and hope it helps encourage eyewear. Im upset bceause i should have known as i had welding flash a few times and could have lost my sight then. Also in a way im lucky i still have the 1 to look after. My 5 better b worth it. Im in hospital just now but thanks everyone
  15. I was working under the car fixing a powersteering pipe and a drip landed in my eye. This was 2 days ago. Been hospital and now lost complete sight in ny right eye for good. I know its common sense to wear eye protection but cant b arsed 2 rummage for them. So please take my advice and do it. Might not happen to all as i already had a old cut on my pupil that i didnt know about but the fluid seeped through and basically killed the eye. I would have thought power steering fluid would have made my eye move quicker but it didnt. Seriously though always use eye protection. I glad. it wasnt both eyes i lost cheers
  16. im trying to find a bleed nipple which is m7x1.00, 33mm long i phoned a number of companies and they said length dont matter? i think it does thats why i havnt got 1 yet. i always thought the point (seat) on the nipple seals against the bottom of the caliper hole therefore seals the hole on the side. if length dont matter what happens if its too short? a bit like a sh**ging really come to think about it. if its too short it wont sit at the bottom. if its too long it should be ok. i was always led to believe the seat seals the threads dont. any thoughts.
  17. id give my testicles and my gen 5 for that.chuck in our lass for a years insurance. thats very nice.
  18. was there silicon in the vicinity that could be airborne believe or not. did you use plastic primer and most of all did you degrease it before painting? finger prints can cause havoc. thirdly what paint did you use? to be on safe side next time spray a bar coat 1st so it different paint types cant react against each other.
  19. i had no choice but go for a weld on tip as there was no room for a backbox. its a side exit exhaust so give me a slap i dare you
  20. fitted nearly all the exterior of my 5 inside it while transporting it.(basically inside out) you didnt say if it was to be drivable lol
  21. you can drive to me and back then you would change your mind lol
  22. your wrong m8. i cant see is celica being sprayed in cellulose paint and 2 pack needs laquer (clear coat) for protection from stone chips, scratches, etc... not to mention the shine. basically a base coat is made of a colour coat pigments, mettalic pigments or pearl-effect pigment then a bonding agent is added then the solvent to make it liquid. if cars rolled out of the factory without protection then you would be fetching your car back within a week ownership due to oxidisation and chips. you would be investing in shares with t-cut. like you said you can paint a car with just basecoat but it wouldnt last. cellulose is different though as you have cut & compund the paint then every 5/6 weeks wax it or it will dull but not having to worry about the clear coat.
  23. looks good aswel hyper you shouldnt show us what your into
