  1. I know I'm gonna be shot down here, but why are GT4's referred to as faff's?
  2. Bet it wasn't as loud as my old MK1 Capri when the exhaust fell off where it joins the manifold lol So this has been going on for over a month and the twats still ain't sorted it out (bet they've got no case)
  3. I've got a CTEK XS 800 battery conditioner, got it free with my subscribtion to Practical classics, it's a really good piece of kit, keep it connected to my MX5 during winter, does the job perfectly, now I've finished restoring my MK1 Cortina GT, I'm gonna by another one for that, Celica don't need one cos it's used every day.
  4. My 1999 SR had 65k on it when I bought it 2 years ago, now has 74k, but needed a new clutch + brake discs and pads, drives great now.
  5. As some have said above, keep it road legal and you can take it for an occasional drive on fine days, I'd still garage it and connect a battery conditioner though, I also have an MX5 and a MK1 Cortina GT and that's what I do, at least it keeps everything free.
  6. Well, I for one am pleased the police are on the case and continuing their war on the motorist (well the ones they can catch easily) I mean at least they're keeping themselves busy, spending our hard earned public money wisely, god, what else would they be doing if we weren't around, maybe they would have found that poor girls body a week earlier if they were doing real policing!!! they may even be able to police our town centre's on a Friday and Saturday night a bit more efficiently, or catching the robbers, muggers and rapists who roam our streets, or what about the bloke who nicked your car? bet they're scouring the streets high and low for him!!!! bloody inconsiderate of you to tie them up with your noisy exhaust, you should be ashamed of yourself.
  7. I reckon It's an import, clock in kph and from Ireland, looks like it to me. I have an imported MX5 , manufactured in 1991 , registered in 2001, clock in kph, sound familiar?
  8. Been a member here for about 2 years, been into Celicas since 1981, first one was a 1978 gen 2 1600st coupe, then a gen 3 2.0 XT liftback in silver over blue, loved that car, now have a gen 6 SR, now thinking about upgrading to a late mdel gen 7
  9. Happy Anniversary chelseablue!

  10. The drivers side drive shaft outer CV joint on my gen 6 1.8 SR has a cracked ABS ring, I noticed this when changing the clutch and explains the reasons my ABS cuts in at about 15mph. Looks like I'll have to change the whole CV joint to rectify the problem. Now although I know how to remove the drive shaft, I don't know how to replace the CV joint, so, the question is, can the joint be replaced without taking the driveshaft off the car, ie just removing the driveshaft from the hub, can any of you kind gents or ladies give me a run down on how to replace the joint either in situ or removed from the car. I know it would be easier to replace the whole driveshaft, but as this is a learning curve I would prefer to just change the joint. Many thanks for your help
  11. Definately oil filter + washer and airfilter as above
