  1. Oh, can't we wait for the challenge to be done?? Impatient men!
  2. I like the track ones and the sense of speed! Amazing how the lighting in the warehouse makes it seem super-shiny too.
  3. I saw one copy in the newsagents this morning, so bought it. Great photo and good write-up. You can see the Celica Club in the rear quarter window and they even give the web address for the club at the end of the article! Hopefully we'll see some extra visitors and members as a result.
  4. Well done! Look forward to you posting some pics at some stage.
  5. Hmmm .... let me think.... Why don't you send me your car? I've got a nice camera I could use!
  6. I guess waiting on Danny to agree? Hope you're thinking of something good to set SKINY !
  7. Someone will definitely do this - it just takes time to be in the right place at the right time. If it hasn't been done in a few weeks, I'll do it myself - and I don't eat McDonald's either! But who said you had to eat it, just photograph it!
  8. Thanks for digging that out! My children used to love that film.
  9. I'm glad your business colleagues realised that Black Betty was a car! Sounds like you are quite infamous down your way (I loved that quote from the film The Three Amigos - do you remember it?!)
  10. Well done Danny - I'd have liked it even more if your horses were in shot too. That's the kind of horsepower I like!
  11. ... well your three hours is nearly up 7.19 pm fast approaching!
  12. Hopefully his memory will return soon! It's horrible when you think you may have lost all your documents etc - especially when you keep meaning to back them up somewhere else, but haven't.
  13. I thought it would be nice on a calendar
  14. Well done Daytona - I knew you could do it! Fabulous photo too - everything comes to those who wait! What time of the morning was that taken? Next challenge?
  15. That's because we're REAL drivers - troubleshooting as we go!
  16. Well we can't have it too easy, can we?!
  17. Have you got a line of sight from one to the other Daytona? If so, it should be possible in theory.... Of course - you may have to hang from said helicopter to get the best angle I see Scotland has fallen off the map already!!! I'm sure they have quite a few lighthouses - GreyRacer found one.
  18. Looks to me as though you are reversing off the harbour into a bollard that is flashing - trying to warn you that one wheel is over the edge already!
  19. Just to recap then, SKINY set tyhe challenge as "a picture of your Celica at a harbour with a lighthouse and fishing boat in shot." Maybe SKINY might like to set a time limit to get this one in, otherwise Greyracer could perhaps do his own photoshop on his two good pics, which we'll pretend we didn't see last week???!! They were brilliant photos...
  20. Looks like you're on a chess board with unusual pieces...
  21. I think they have different laws in Scotland, so probably will away with it!
  22. RUToyota's post has reminded me of this, which I had been debating whether or not to post. This is a little story that happened a few years back now, but still makes me smile when I think of it! I was going to collect my teenage daughter and her friend from town late one evening and parked up at the appointed place to wait. I noticed several performance cars whizzing past me at intervals, and then 5-10 mins later, the same ones were coming past me again. I realised the Boy Racers were in town and doing the ring road circuit, and a couple had noticed my car parked and peered as they went past! The girls arrived and climbed in just as some more came past. I said to them “Do you know – I would love to do one circuit with them and show them what a classy car is like! Who needs a massive exhaust, blue lights underneath and a Go Faster stripe!” My daughter was horrified and said “You can’t do that!”, but her friend said “Go for it Mrs R!” – so I did! I decided I would play it really cool, not make it obvious and stick to the speed limit. At the first set of lights one came along side, others behind me. I told the girls not to stare at them – I certainly wasn’t going to even glance (so uncool guys!!), I could see all I needed to see out of the corner of my eye! My one advantage was my good reaction times and the fact that I knew the sequencing of the three and four way traffic lights and I knew where to look for the reflections of the last light to go red before mine went amber. I was first away from the lights every time! Sure, they overtook me on some of the straights by exceeding the limit, but amazingly the lights went red every time and I drew up alongside. It was quite hard not to laugh at so many pairs of eyes turned in our direction. After finishing one circuit, we drove past the spot where the main group had gathered to peer under each other’s bonnets and gave them a wave before going on our way!
