  4. Does anyone have any good tips on cleaning brake calipers as a DIY job besides hours spent with a wire brush or something attached to a drill. Steve

  6. Mine didn't quite pop out, but there is a flange moulded onto the inboard housing, I used the standard Toyota wheel nut removal tool which has a tapered end on it to pop them out, just levered them against the gearbox housing and out it came. Steve
  7. Thats the second Gen7 I've seen on here in a couple of months that ahve been smashed by rabbits, have they started wearing body armour or are these 7's very close to the ground? Hope you get it sorted out quickly and without too much expense though. Steve
  8. Now that is just criminal. Why was I never sensible and put money away for a rainly day? Steve
  9. Hi Guys, although this is aimed more towards the Gen6, views from others owners are also valid. There are many posts on here regarding Celicas appearing in other online sites and scoffing at how much the present owner is looking for. This applies to modded and unmodded cars. However, if you turn this round, there are Celicas out there that are being sold for higher than average prices. Of course a price is always there to be haggled over, some people are good hagglers and some arn't but if there are cars out there going for good prices why not the ones we own? There are always "mates rates", but how many Celicas actually go to a close friend rather than just a person you chat with a lot online (they can also be good mates). Does anyone else feel we are under valuing our cars and loosing out? Steve
  10. I'll just stick them on the rear windows then, might stop the rear calipers from seizing and be counted as a safety mod  Steve ps site managers, my cookie was missing from the joining pack, postie must have eaten it, please can you send me another one
  11. Do you think I would have to inform my insurance company too about a non standard tuning mod? Steve
  12. Right I'll have to get those stickers on ASAP, my 1.8 could always do with a few more BHP. I'll have to mount on the front lights though as the SR doesn't have that fancy 4WD thingy. However, if I buy an extra set and go for both internal and external fitting will I get the double benefit? Steve
  13. Have you thought about bleeding the clutch hydraulics and replacing with new fluid, quite a quick job if there are 2 people handy. Steve
  14. A lot more show than go .... only quotes the engine as a 2cc .... which model is that then? Steve
  15. Another tidy shed, which is good at fitting all my fishing gear into. Always leave the rear seats down and the parcel shelf out, shows there is nothing in there to nick. However, I do try to keep it cleanish with not too many sweet wrappers on the passenger side floor Steve
  16. Is there no way you can keep your present very nice car and buy a cheaper GT4 that needs some work, but that is a good runner. Then restore the GT4 back to standard (not spending a fortune) and then flip a coin to see which to keep. Steve
  17. Hi Guys, I'm looking for a decent car washing fluid, possibly just a wash and go type. I know a lot of you guys can spend hours on washing and polishing using lots of different potions and lotions, but I dont have time for this and to be honest I don't want to spend 10% of the value of the car on lotions. So what is out there that can either be hand washed on or put on via the pressure washer that leaves a nice finish? Steve
  18. Do I have the shortest commute in the club? Two fire doors and a set of stairs. Just over 150 - 200 a week though visiting the good lady on my days off. Steve
  19. The Toyota direction would seem the best way to go, but I do know that Halfords (an possibly other car factor type places) do a special tool for removing locking nuts, comes in a pack of 2 sockets and from memory seems to look like a spiral grip on the inside of the socket to grip the nut and then remove like a standard wheel nut. Not sure if you could reuse the nuts after though. Steve
  20. A mate of mine who had a bad job done by a local garage under an insurance claim had them removed from the approved repairers list, but that was more involved than just a poor paint job. If they cant sort it then there is always the Sale of Goods Act, something to do with "not suitable for purpose", but CAB would be able to give you more advice on that point. Hope you get it sorted though without anymore hassle. Steve
  21. Had a chance to do a proper test on the blades now and I'm very happy with the results. It was a definate double speed wipe session on the M25 and the blades were great, no streaks, no noise and no lifting. Well worth a go at fitting to your car, they cost a bit more but worth the extra in my opinion. I'll add more when they have been on the car for a while, just to see if they have a decent life. Steve
  22. I've just bought a full set of the neoform blades from Opie. I went direct to their site, but because I'm a member on here I was able to buy the blades off about a £1 less on each one. Free to register and just selected this club from their list and added my membership name for the discount. Not really had any real rain yet, but streak free and quiet when clearing condensation from the screen. They do look a lot nicer than a traditional blade as well. Steve
