  1. I'd say 3M but you'd need to rub the whole roof down very well as any little blemish will show through, even more so with shiny black and as said above it may lift remaining laquer that is slightly loose and wont stick.

Personally i wouldnt after having a go at a bumper a year or so back which ended up getting sprayed anyway

  2. agree , though have the 185 (it wont be long before its back on the road again) the gen 6 is the best for performance/weight etc. I still remember the sight of Adex in my rear view mirror veins popping as we tried to bump start the 185 outside his place once,

I like mine for the smile factor, the pop ups and i dont need more performance than it has

if i was looking at a gen 6 this one i like

  3. Cheers mate

The only mod that was on it was the plastidipped wheels, spoiler and bonnet scoop

I still have lowering springs, strut brace, exhaust and a few other bits including a towhook and quick release bumper fasteners so they might go in the shed in case I get another one in the future

Just going to let the insurance Co have it all and hopefully get a good payout

I told them its worth around £1700 as it had some good optional extras like satnav, upgraded factory stereo, the sunroof, factory 17s and the TTE spoiler but that is purely a guess

Sorry to see this Danny and glad you didnt end up broken too.

Ref insurance it would be in your interest to scout around and make notes of classified adverts/prices for same age/model/spec higher end, dealer adverts etc. Forearmed could be the difference between you getting a decent price for yours or not. What you tell them its worth when take out insurance is not what they go by , oh and dont accept the first offer, it will always be lower than they are prepared to pay

Good luck with the MR2 hunting :)

  4. That is the sound of your starter...coulld be a starter fault but my Beams does the same thing when the batt is low (car in storage) but when i jump start it no problem...I bob over and jump start it if that fails them it's your starter

this was the sound mine made, putting the booster battery pack on it still did it, putting a new battery on it fired up straight away and been fine since

  5. Tyres out of shape sounds like what happened to my old Sirocco. Trip to Devon and back with a little heavy foot driving in places resulted in me limping onto the hard shoulder of the m25 not far from home with a definate strange feeling coming from the wheels

Got out, could see nothing wrong

Drove steady home and next day we took wheels off, give them a roll along , they will just fall over

On closer looking they were actually twisted

tyres not rated for right speed can do this

    cheap tyres

old tyres - we think this may have been my problem, even if they have plenty tread they can be lethal

i was lucky all four didnt blow out at hight speed
