So , had a phonecall just now re valuation Started with going through all the engineer had said and then told me their offer £1000 inside i thought hmmm thats more than i thought, but said no "What sort of figure were you thinking madam?" "Well to get another in that condition would need to be more like £1200" "Well thats a bit more than we would want to pay but i'm not going to split hairs, we'll get you a cheque sent out for £1200 and arrange collection of the old one" "Ah but the guy i spoke to before said you wouldnt want the old one back?" "Well they can be bought back madam but we would have to adjust the payout to take that into consideration. It would be £880 and you keep the car?" Quick think Any stripping of the car was going to have to be done more or less in one day , meaning a load of work and none of the panels dint free plus landlord is going to want it out the car park and how quick would any bits go i dont have a garage Alternative take the £1200 and be done with it? Told him yes send the cheque and arrange collection of car Am happy with that

I carry my full size spare for same reason as John, potholes done a couple over the last year and last time it was 11.30 at night and raining for speed now i have a small trolley jack in the boot too and i can dump off the wheel to be fixed on the way to work then chuck it in the boot and it becomes the spare, no messing with changing over again

Arent runflats only suitable for the newer cars with a sensor? Seem to remember reading somewhere that they not suitable for ones without recently

Always carry one, dont have breakdown cover but even if i did sod waiting around for someone to arrive to change it when can be up and running in no time

Very nice man just been out. Recognised the car as not just an old car as he used to work for Toyota and was selling these back in the day. Said was a very good example , about as good as you could get were his words. But its a write off as we thought He didnt give me a figure but said i would be contacted in the next 24/48 hours and suggested i have a scout for any adverts for one in same condition (as have been anyway) to have an idea of whats acceptable as thats what they will be doing.

i am having a look now bigstring, theres the ones Carla found which she linked on this thread but i cant find many. done autotrader, pistonheads, ebay so far have come up with one at £950, £994, £790 one at £690 (bit pink looking) and a minter at £2000 same old, when you're looking for something you cant find it ! But, i may keep them i dont know yet head and neck did not like me changing 4 wheels lol yes i went to a&e saturday afternoon, neck sprain , nothing serious but boy is it uncomfortable and burning sensation all round back of neck and shoulders. Have got appointment with osteopath tomorrow afternoon which i reckon will loosen all the muscles etc up. Feels like a good crunch is needed
