  1. I have this on one side of my back window, googled it and found gorilla glue was recommended so i got some and i'm going to wait for a couple of days of good weather to give it a go. When i asked the local trimmers was met with an intake of breath and ooh you'll need to have a new window fitted, dont think so
  2. Give JPow a shout, you arent that far from Surrey Projects and i saw their work close up when there the other weekend, they are good and doing a very reasonable price too
  3. You wont do that again will you In my old ST i went to leave a friends house and was just coming out the drive, while changing a cd and not concentrating at all - or steering, just rolling forward and forgot it pulled slightly to the left, there was a scraping noise as my front wing graunched along her garden wall
  4. I was at snake pass, yes my test drive lasted two weeks - from Devon, through Lake District, Wales and up into the Western Highlands told boss new conversion needed testing properly bozo going the other direction hit it going round a hairpin bend and carried on driving, luckily no damage to paint other than the dent so whipped off the door panel that evening and popped it out but it kept popping back in, hence the piece of wood , worked a treat
  5. If the bottom part only pops back in when you take pressure away is there any way of wedging a bit of wood between panels to make it stay out? As a temporary fix. I dented a 38 grand new vw camper while out testing once, its probably still got the piece of wood i wedged in it before taking it back
  6. no worries, glad you posted up before and not after
  7. For anybody with a fibreglass-bodied vehicle, sanding is the best and safest method of paint removal. The only difference between the fibreglass and metal bodies procedure is that 80 grit could accidentally go through the gelcoat and into the glass body. DO NOT USE PAINT STRIPPER ON FIBREGLASS. excerpt taken from this link... http://www.spraychiefcustompaints.com.au/images/spraychief-tips.pdf
  8. think if you put paint stripper on it may leave a problem with a reaction to paint sure a paintshop guy mentioned that to me before many years ago
  9. The vert got well and truly shat on by a heron last week, what a mess
  10. Ouch if the sun bakes it on it can be a nightmare, especially a dark coloured car. My old mate took her immaculate XR2 in black to live down in Dawlish, Devon - the seagull muck ate into the paintwork like acid . plus she had salt air being right on the coast, i couldnt believe the state of it when i saw it a year later
  11. Yep was too , right after we ran the battery down with the headlights on that day
  12. pm'd details as requested no not on here or advertised as a gen 5 member was due to look at today so had held off, but has had to pull out unfortunately, another member also had to pull out before seeing due to their other car issues also a few weeks ago or i'm sure it wouldnt be available now
  13. For a daily you cant beat a gen 6, they take everything you throw at them
  14. I sold a grey velour good condition set for £80, which is the price i paid for another set for another gen 5 in good condition from another member. Devious was also interested in the set i just sold but they had already been promised so he may well be in the market for some if plans have not changed. If someone needs front door panels to go with some i have some of those for sale
  15. I will know if there's a noticeable difference the day it goes in the vert, v power gets her burbling
  16. My gt4 been running on it since first thing, from a near empty tank. No complaints, drove well - did it feel more responsive? possibly yes, but was that just that i knew it had it in it and was testing it out a bit..... Lady behind the counter said its due to be changed over in all Shell garages by the 18th May The reason ours was closed day before yesterday was to check the tanks for any water ingress which happily they have no problem with
  17. If the garage is open in the morning i'm due to call in there anyway so the gt4 will be trying it
