  1. Nice find ! I've had two of those, the green one was auto, the silver one 6-speed manual. Both the Z28 with the LT1 5.7 litre V8 like that one And I looked through my photos last night but even though I still had them when I bought my first Sunchaser I've got no photos of them together. Next challenge please
  2. Funny you should say that as I could actually do that The local scrapyard has got a plane in minus its wings and can be clearly seen from the road. As for what's in the garden, this is a pic from tonight:- In shot seven Toyotas (4 Sunchasers, a 1979 Corolla Liftback, a 1993 Corolla, a damaged MR2 Mk2), a Nissan Micra, a Vauxhall Astra (behind the Micra), a Honda CBR600RR...........and out of shot a Honda CD185, a Honda VFR750, a Kawasaki Z650, a Honda CBX250, a Francis Barnett Cruiser. I'm going to have to stop buying things
  3. The daughter will be most disappointed the handstand challenge has been done as we were waiting for some dry weather to do this:- Anyway the challenge is your Celica next to an American car, extra points for a convertible. Well try this for size:- My red UK Sunchaser in the background with my US LHD Sunchaser in the foreground. It's a convertible and technically it's American as the LHD cars were converted in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I'll set the next challenge if a 'proper' Yank car doesn't appear in the next few days.
  4. The challenge was: Any pet/animal in your celica except a dog (you can't keep them out of cars). My entry was a repost from an earlier challenge, so I wasn't counting it unless we got desperate. So in my book, your turn to set a challenge
  5. It's funny you should say that because when I had this which was left hand drive, he'd sit exactly the same in the passenger seat (which of course was on the right hand side). Now that did get some funny looks and double takes So I guess I'll have to use this photo again The eagle-eyed members will know I used this some time ago when the challenge was along the lines of your Celica next to a sheep. If no-one can do an original shot I'll set a new challenge on Friday evening.
  6. That's a shame because I love this photo
  7. I know Scotland isn't an island, then again neither is Wales but after 11 years working in Wrexham but commuting from Crewe I found the best native-baiting involved frequent use of the term 'back to the mainland'. Either the Welsh are a bit easier to goad or aren't quite as perceptive as you Scots.
  8. Is that just in Scotland though or did your qualifications cover the mainland as well? Oh and I haven't got a photo of my Celica with a rodent but I've got a picture of one of my Celicas with a 'hugedent'
  9. Wikipedia says:- "Common rodents include mice, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, gophers, porcupines, beavers, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, degus, chinchillas, prairie dogs, and groundhogs. Members of non-rodent orders such as Chiroptera (bats), Scandentia (treeshrews), Insectivora (moles, shrews and hedgehogs), Lagomorpha (hares, rabbits and pikas) and mustelid carnivores such as weasels and mink are sometimes confused with rodents." But...... "The lagomorphs' are the members of the taxonomic order Lagomorpha, of which there are two families, the Leporidae (hares and rabbits), and the Ochotonidae (pikas). The name of the order is derived from the Greek lagos (λαγος, "hare") and morphē (μορφή, "form"). Though these mammals can resemble rodents (order Rodentia), and were classified as a superfamily in that order until the early twentieth century, they have since been considered a separate order. For a time it was common to consider the lagomorphs only distant relatives of the rodents, to whom they merely bore a superficial resemblance." So possibly a rabbit will do
  10. Well there is someone sat in it, and I'm sure they're a stunning example of the human race, so Bill, next challenge please.
  11. Now with me being born and bred in Crewe, a town built by the railways, I feel as I must rise to this challenge :- An InterCity APT (Advanced Passenger Train) 125 at Crewe Heritage Centre. Next challenge seeing as the good weather is finally here:- Your Celica next to a convertible car (any make, any model, any age) BUT......it must have it's top down or top off and for extra brownie points a good looking occupant (of either gender !!), not an old duffer like myself
  12. Sounds good to me. You see them parked up in various locations, but a shot of a moving one from inside your car should be OK as long as A: The car is identifiable as a Celica B: You don't put yourself or other road-users at risk (get a passenger to take it!)
  13. We seem to have either a distinct air of apathy for this thread just lately or there's a great shortage of OAP's in the country at the moment So I've done my own challenge:- and tried to make the next one easier Next challenge continues the road sign theme:- Your Celica next to a 'Men at Work' sign (you know, the picture of the man digging a hole) Now there should be plenty of those about so get your cameras out and keep this thread alive
  14. It's not in Sheffield, but it's got a sign that says FREE BEER Next challenge is your Celica next to a road sign for 'Old People Crossing' with bonus points for real OAPs in the shot.
  15. You mean the purple one? That was actually from a bouquet the wife had for her birthday last week and it went straight back into the vase after the photoshoot. So I'm not a horrible plant killer
  16. It's alright cos I've replanted them They'll be alright won't they
  17. I can do colours !!! While you're all in the garden now, let's see your Celica next to a garden swing, either a kiddies-type one or a lounger-type one.
  18. Welcome back to the Coughdrop & MisterC Gardening Show A Celica with 3 cut flowers in the grille. There ia a red one, a yellow one and a blue one, and thaty's as much as I know So next challenge, once more in the garden (I've a lot of stuff in my garden ), your Celica next to a garden hose, either furled or unfurled but preferably with water coming out of it. Edit: Just realised that Katy has shown me up by having her top off in her photos and I'm still fully covered. I did have my top off on most of my trip to Harlow at the weekend
  19. Well I've got a white-flowering blossom tree with a Celica in front of it But I wouldn't khow a blackthorn if I tripped over it Is that where the cider comes from? Here's a close up Next challenge is still in the garden:- Your Celica with at least 3 gardening tools near it, spade, hoe, rake etc.
  20. This is definitely a worm !!! Probably not as big and juicy as I promised ( ) but it's still a worm (no legs, tentacles etc.) So next challenge is your Celica with a lawnmower next to it (preferably petrol and the bigger the better)
  21. No I wasn't, it's just that I'm not very good on the nature thing I was surprised I couldn't find a worm as they're usually all over my garden when I move something. If this is still going tomorrow I promise to find a really wriggly juicy worm.
  22. Don't you just love the youngsters of today - A whole 4 minutes looking for a worm - he must have the patience of a saint I've been looking under all the paving slabs Chez MisterC and I found this fella. I know he's a bit small and a bit hairy to probably be a worm in the true sense of the word, but he wriggled like hell and is probably related to a worm somewhere in his life If this is acceptable, I'll set a new challenge.
  23. Oh Angus, your advancing years are playing tricks on your mind ! The sketch you think you remember was in fact the Travel Agent sketch by Monty Python. As shown below "silly bunt" didn't actually make it onto the BBC on first showings, and the cut in the filming is evident as the first link shows. The second link is of the live show where it is actually uttered. "Some material originally recorded went missing later, mostly because of censorship. Sometimes it was just part of a sketch, such as the use of the word “masturbation” in the Summarize Proust sketch (which was muted during the first airing, and later cut out entirely) or “What a silly bunt” in the Travel Agent sketch (which featured a character [idle] who has a speech impediment that makes him pronounce "C"s as "B"s), which was cut before the sketch ever went to air. However, when this sketch was included in the "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" film, the line remained intact."
