  1. Here's one I took at Crewe's recently opened "World of Toyota Theme Garden" (a tribute to Japan's finest automobiles all in one man's back yard).
  2. To quote from Brian Long's Celica book:- "On January 8th 1996, the Convertible line gained the revised front end of it's tin-top stablemates............... At the same time, dual airbags were adopted on certain grades." Not gospel as inaccuracies do occur in printed material but it should give an idea of the 'change'.
  3. I'm very surprised the Gen 4 boys haven't done this yet as their meet this year was at the Heritage Centre at Gaydon. I've been through my photos and I've a shot of the red Sunchaser from 2008 in the grounds of Mouldweorth Motor Museum (just outside Chester) but the building isn't in the shot so it'd be my word against yours that it isn't just a random shot anywhere
  4. Alright then, a picture of your Celica with a box of fireworks on it, or even just ONE firework on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  5. Haven't Gen 7's got the 'automatic park anywhere lights' then ???? I think the handbook misleadingly calls them 'hazard warning flashers' or something like that
  6. Obviously picked the wrong time of year for this challenge So I'll give it a few more days with a slight change in wording :- Your Celica outside a fireworks shop or any shop selling fireworks with a sign to that effect.
  7. No I'll do your challenge "to have a picture taken outside a guitar shop, with my bands logo in your window screen!" No apologies for the poor picture - This is on one of Crewe's busier roads even at 7.30 in the morning with double yellows. I was in so much of a hurry the poster is upside down I think. Here's a pic of the shop, Snakey Jake's Custom Amplification. If this is good enough the next challenge is your Celica outside a fireworks shop.
  8. And my version of the same !!!! I tried to capture the reflection of Bob's car in my paintwork but to use Bob's words my paint is a bit dull (well compared to his it is )
  9. Brilliant !! Now set the next challenge please (and I'd made a special trip this evening for this )
  10. Well done !! As for the next challenge I'll let someone else have a crack at it first. If not, it'll be out to the garden and take a shot of my car next to my 1979 Toyota Corolla Liftback :-
  11. Oooohhh this is getting confusing it seems !!!! To clarify, the challenge as modified is :- Your Celica, be it a real or a model one (past/present or a photo thereof) outside a motorcycle shop or motorcycle dealership. If nothing is forthcoming in the next few days I'm going to give it to Steve C for pure persistence
  12. Yeah, Steve just likes any excuse to post pictures of his cars And toy cars are most acceptable
  13. No, not good enough as just for you I'll extend the challenge to 'you outside a motorcycle shop holding a photo of your old Celica As I said, no excuses on this
  14. Right then, the new challenge should be quite easily acheivable and is definitely something I haven't got in my back garden !! To remind me that I should be ready to go back to work in the next few weeks (it'll then be 12 weeks since the bike accident ). the challenge is your Celica outside a motorcycle shop or dealership. No excuses for this one, just get your cars & cameras out and start snapping
  15. Right I'm driving manuals again ! My Sunchaser outside a butchers, sorry no meat products on the roof as the roof is off If we think this thread is worth keeping alive I'll set a new challenge
  16. I've been driving since last Thursday but am restricted to the EE80 Corolla at the moment as it's automatic and I'm still struggling to operate a clutch pedal. But I will be back !!
  17. I think the original challenge involved being outside a butcher's shop But if not, even in my present state of disability, I'm sure I could get into the garden and slap half a pound of prime English beef on top of one of the Sunchasers.
  18. Mmmmm, was the inclusion of the word 'tart' a good idea Bryan?? Unfortunately I'll probably be sitting this one out as I don't have a bakery in the back garden and in my present 'plastered' state I'm not getting out much
  19. It's looks as though that will be good enough Angus, no other takers. I'm still not back at work after the accident so can't do a shot with our fork lift. Next challenge please unless anyone else objects ! PS 10/10 for creativity and lateral thinking Angus
  20. That's no problem, thanks for your input anyway. Now you get out looking for a fork lift truck and I'll get my banana out again
  21. You romantic old fool Next challenge then please.
  22. Just a quick reminder of the current challenge Obviously for any one lucky enough to receive a card today, this also counts in the challenge. If not, better luck next year
  23. Next challenge: In a bid to steer away from the suggestion of wearing your wife's clothes Your Celica with a Valentines Card on the bonnet/parcel shelf/seats An easy challenge as I'm sure most of us will be doing the last minute rush into the 24hr garage on Saturday night/Sunday morning to grab the least-appropriate-but-only-one-available card on the shelf
