  1. thats pretty much what i think i'm going to do tbh. insurance isn't much more than the st. then transfer all my bits over like my wheels, bodykit, springs, interior trim. i'd love a supra, but deffo cant afford one of those
  2. No play in the hub. No sound and smooth. Plus it's fine when normally driving.
  3. It's got a new bearing in one side. The other is fine. It does it under any braking. Only time it doesn't do it is when I'm not braking.
  4. one of the many many mechanics I've spoken to as said put on grooved. Which where actually on the car before it all started. I have got one sensor out on the front. Also, with the abs, surely that would be a constant symptom? I only get it after about 400 miles on new discs
  5. the only fault code the abs is showing is for the front drivers side wheel sensor. no other codes.
  6. yep ONLY when braking. using mintex pads. second set of now.
  7. think i'm gonna start saving for a replacement... got to the point where i really dont want to spend anymore trying to fix it. unless i know for deffinate it will fix the problem
  8. 97k, lol. and no its not fun. i've spent about £600 in total so far on brakes one way or another
  9. im on second set of calipers. got gt ones on now, instead of st. happening with both sets of calipers. surely i cant be that unlucky, lol
  10. i'd break mine, but only problem is i need a car constantly. and then there's the matter of keeping it somewhere. plus if i want another celica, then i'd want to swap my bits over, so wouldn't leave much left to sell
  11. yep and yep. we've literally check and tested everything bar blowing out the whole system and master cylinder. the only fault the abs is showing is the F/O/S wheel sensor, but the abs only removes preasure anyway. so even with faulty abs, all that will do is cause the car to skid. whatever the problem is... its got to be brake related somewhere down the line. as normal driving it spot on. that is untill the symptons start and in which case start to get high speed vibs, (about 70mph) but only when the prob is there. with new discs on its fine. warping is surely an impossiblity in reality. and only realy happens on race cars under extream temperatures. anywhere you look on the net about disc warping. this is said. the discs where checked for VT so rules that out.. i really dont know anymore!
  12. vibrations in the pedal and wheel. every time i've changed the discs the car has been fine for the first 400-500 miles or so. then the symptons slowly start coming back. but with the tests today showing the discs and hubs to be running true, it completely throws a spanner in the works.
  13. i've had it now. the car is clearly a rouge and determined not to be fixed.... just spent 2 hours at the garage... run out test on hubs = fine VT test on the discs = fine pistons in calipers = fine new braided hoses on front = obviously fine fluid flow from master cylinder to and from. not tested, but pistons in calipers were pushed back to remove an preasure, and still had problems on way home. so its deabting the fact if there is a return issue with the fluid... potentially showing problems with blocked pipes or valves.. so. do i either spend a grand or so completely replacing the whole braking system and front end (hubs, shafts, gear box, bearing and anything else that spins), or buy another and risk other problems and transfer my trick bits over.
  14. Razorjack is spot on with the legal requirements
  15. both mine ok apart from the tiny tiny carpark door dings although the purple one has the stuck up ariel
  16. i recently did some gt calipers for my st. easy enough job.
  17. first thing i'd buy is a '67 gt500. then modenise everything. a la... my celica? not much as its only an st.
  18. X2 on that.... for about 4 times now he's helped me out, lol nick
  19. Wouldn't of thought so, being as the 6 was a considerable model change.
  20. i done something simular with tints. cut it out from a template and it was for the wrong side window. also put on piece of film on before wthout taking the backing off. and wondered why it kept coming off. pmsl
  21. fucking bastards!!! your car should have a thatcham 1 immobiliser anyway? least i'm sure the uk '6 do anyway? one thing i did on one of my old cars, was to run a wire from the coil, to a hiden switch in the car, and back again. like a ciruit breaker. also, i have some safty security film somewhere i think, if its any good i'll do you a good deal.
  22. Of it's something you wanna try anyway, then why don't you try make the moulds yourself?
