i have to say it could end up costing you more to do it yourself but im that sort of person wanna give everything a try myself and yes sometime it cost alot more but the feeling when you manage to get it perfect yourself is soooo good lol. but that just me lol

best thing to do on the gen 7 is take the door card out before you do it as it will give you loads of room on the bottom and the door card is really easy to take out. and do it on a sunny day as it will dry quicker.

there is one on the left side behind the battery. however it really tight as there is alot of wire go through there already but if you take out ur glove compartment and get a flexible rod and wiggle abit you should be able to get through it and it should come out behind the fan where the pollen filter go hope this help ps i still dunno y you want to get a switch for the DRLs lol

damn it i was hopping to go ahead with this mod as some point when im sure on how to do it but now it gone out the window

alot of people seem to forget that the car have the immobilizer as another measure of security. you could try and remove the steering lock and you could try and move the barrel to the dash and wire it so that you dont have to turn the key just put in to disarm the immobilizer then press the button and away you go. this is how they do it how they do it on the new civic i believe. that is my idea go on there must be some1 brave enough (im not) to try that and let the rest of us follow lol :P

i have one of the odb2 reader from ebay only a cheap 1 and i leave it permanently in the car i forget that it was there sometime lol what you got to do is push it back and the connect will come out and disconnect from the dash then all you do is connect the reader and leave it behind the plastic that connect to the silk next to your right foot and away you go the only problem with the ebay 1 is the speed is not that great you have a little delay on the reading but if you just want to use it for reading fault code like me it the cheapest option and it work great.
