  1. Right the test drive............AKA Ghoulscouts 6 mileish trip to work First of all can I just say how bloody coool Huey Morgan sounds on SLS B) i meen like really wow, smooooth Oh and this car needs cleaning out, I mean really I thought mine was bad. Back on topic. Unfortunatly she was actully in quite a good mood today didnt get any crunches out of it at all and this includes putting it in reverse to pull out parking space. I swear cars have moods. Driving along resi 30/40 Mph all good apart from a slight slipping clutch. Then your never going to guess what happened got to duel carridgeway (for those that dont know the IOW has one 70mph road which is about half a mile of duelly) and theres a sign on the road saying "Road closed for all cars except Black ST182s for gearbox testing purposes" Like wow what are the chances of that happening??? So anyways I stop at lights, turn Fun lovin criminals down, lights change, boot it up road, nice bit of slip between first n second, but second to third a serious fight burst between gearbox and engine engine screaming "come on lets go" and clutch/box screaming "fcuk you" similar between third and forth, and due to running out of road forth to 5th change was a lot less agressive. Pulls into work carpark and I might of imagined it but I think I got a very slight scream of what sounded a little bit like clutch release bearings. Will check it over for leaks later on today Question 1:- would a gearbpx issue cause the clutch to slip or is that 100% down to the cluch? Question 2:- Leak or Leek?? Ones a drip ones a vegi but I can never remember which one is which, Dammit maybe that explains my PAS problem (note to self take vegis out of PAS tank they wont fix it) In conclusion shes got the power there its just not going down on the road, all of this would make me think clutch not box. But the thing thats making me think box as well is, Had her over two years now and its always been a bit ropey, so why is it still drivable??? Ive only ever replaced one clutch before (which was a mark 5 Ford Escort) when the clutch started slipping on that as little as 2 weeks later it was so bad it would wheel spin when changing up due to building up so many revs by the time the transimition re-engaged. Oh and for some strange reason some guy in an MG-ZT managed to get through security and sneak onto the Celica gearbox test track......................... Even with a fcuked clutch she still kicked its arse.
  2. The reason I said a 6 box over a 5 is very simple. Its at least 4 years newer  Hopefully it will just be the clutch there is no doubt that the clutch wants doing, but what I dont want to do is fit a new clutch only to find out that the box needs doing as well then the lot has to come out a second time. Ill have a drive weekend.
  3. Isnt it only 2nd thats slightly longer on a 6 box? or slightly shorter? one of the two anyway.
  4. Anybody got a photo of slave cylinder please???? I will check it Clutch has always slipped slighty since buying the car esp under acceleration when driven hard or racing pug 206 GTIs on a private racetrack. (joking of corse) Bite is quite high, fairly close the top infact, and as has been said sometimes it just wont go into gear without a crunch or sometimes unless you come off the clutch back into neutal and cluth back down. Bek did check the fluid and top up about 6 months ago which did make it a little better briefly. The clutch slipping hasnt got any worse since buying it, its just always been there. I would have thought if the problem was the clutch then the slipping would have got worse quickly which is why Im hedging towards the box??? Of corse if we replace the box then be mad not to change the clutch at same time, Im also thinking a 6 box would be a good move????
  5. "w" is nowhere near "v" on a comp
  6. I aint got a clue but Id really like to know what the topic title was before it was editted
  7. Please dont take this the wrong way, but in the way its ment to be taken but the first thougt that came to my mind when I saw the first post was "dont be a tw@t" As said above, if your on an extreme budget then part worns. Are retreads even still legal on road cars???? If so they shouldnt be. esp not on Celicas
  8. Do Japanesse people actully have Domos, stickerbombs, shockers etc on their cars???
  9. No but only because I havent found one yet Still dont make me JDM though. I did buy Kittii a 10 yen coin for good luck to pass her driving test. How JDM is that
  10. If I was ever going to buy a 7 (which I doubt I will) yellow would be my first choice
  11. I know my 5 styling is kinda controversial esp in the engine (and gearbox) department but Ive always kind of tried to avoid the JDM styling route on the grounds that my car is not JDM (Im leaving the Domokuns and sticker bombing to Kittii whos car is JDM ) To me the car has to be made and sold in Japan to a Japanese person to be JDM. Having said that those lairy tow hooks are growing on me coz I want to hang a hedgehog on one Oh and I might have a lack of bonnet spoiler ........ and no headlight washers........ and my JDM front seats....... JDM parking permit ........ and a JDM engine USDM front indys???? And my car was first sold in Essex....... oo-errrr but I will not be rewiring my rear lights and changing rear plates IOWDM FTW yall!!!!
  12. Cheers Im sure Ill catch up with Milsys old one sometime soon to Ill take a look at how vent is done
  13. Thanks Rich I think your that post and Rays last post on Scotts thread have kinda made up my mind for me. Post borrowed from Scotts thread with no permissions whatso ever. In the event of copywrite issues then talk address all complaints to Biggy Stone chips are going to need filling anyway Ill see if that wrapping guy is at JAE next year because if I was to do it myself Id be looking at Hexis wrap which would cost a fair bit in itself, so might as well give it to a pro at those sort of prices as I dont think I could do it cheaper myself anyway. If need be Kittii could do the side vents to keep the costs down, Couple of questions though. Are my front trims/indys Hexis or 3M??? and is it even possible do do the centre vent in one piece??? Oh and what do you guys think of this? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f00aa19cb
  14. Thanks for that Sonic but if I was to get a real carbon bonnet then id also have to change my spoiler back to standard or get a carbon one, my indicators, front trim, my headlight cowels, my rear lights, then Id prob have to change all my interior so its not really an option. Oh and correct me if Im wrong but did you just acuse somebody else of being a cheap skate???? Thats the funniest thing I heard all day   Sorry how much did you pay for your carbon bonnet again???? This is what fake carbon looks like edit this poll has made things more confussing should I wrap half of it???
  15. Im actully thinking about looking into compressers at the moment anyway for Kittiis respray. Just didnt fancy spraying a metallic as its a lot harder than satin black. Thats Biggys car isnt it????
  16. Actully I think I would as well.... or maybe splinter stripes but thats real carbon and soooooooooooo last year
  17. Right as you all know I have a lot of fake carbon, and I wasnt really planning on doing anymore. However as Im sure you have noticed my GT4 bonnet is a slightly different colour to the rest of the car and has a few stone chips which show white. Now the colour I can live with because the one wing, drivers door and bumper are all off different cars anyway and shes had a part respray at some point in her life due to front wing impact before I got her. The chips however are bugging me. Now I could get some touch up paint but that always looks pants. Respray Im not even going to consider as its expensive and will stick out a mile off. of I could carbon wrap it?? Question is would this be too much wrap, should I just live with it until I win the lottery and respray whole car?? your thoughts please?
  18. The red and white is powercoated, there is a fair bit of satin black under there too further down which is just standard black VHT spray, the exhaust heat shield is show use only though because of the hight temps it hits some up to date pictures
  19. Funy you should say that, it was quite chipped so since that photo its been sandblasted back to metal so that its all uniform. not the best picture in the world but thats a more up to date one
