  1. it does sad to say , given its planted in the garden with the flowers then yeah had a chat with the mechanic who is up for doing the v8 swop and it could be a go-er but i recon it would take a couple of yrs based on hes still not wired the bloody lights , im having it back next week regardless ,,,,,, so i really need to find another mechanic whos up for it , we have sussed that if we mount the v8 far enough forward it should avoid the rack issue and therefore make it a good possibility it can happen , i need to find an engine already out that i can measure to be assured , its that or give it thor and live with the bill , the way its going thats not such a bad thing

  4. mines a 5 watt http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260639262939 given this is a amorphous panel ( that means it works even on cloudy days or even when its raining rather than needing direct sunlight , figure on this when the panels inside your car ) which cost a small fortune to create the price isnt bad , it also comes with the usual diode ( stops the elec travelling back ) then im happy and it defo does the job , the small in car i suspect to be rather weak in performance hence buying this toys got to love the toys
  5. money where mouth is moment i brought a solar panel to keep the car charged up , its a bit bigger than a normal plug in the fag lighter set up as im not convinced they have enough in them to work 100% , as you can see from the reflection its cloudy here and its banging out 15.2 volts into a jell battery ( looks less in the pic due to angle ) , the battery is fully charged at 14.3 and hasnt been charged by the mains
  6. wire in another but straight to the battery ( fused though ) and viola ,,, problem solved you could also wire the old one direct but its nice to have 2 ,,,, 1 in the boots a nice touch ( idea ripped from alfa romeos )
  7. you can drop a battery into the space under the arm rest , cant find a better place than that ! not sure on the weight saver part , mine weighs massively oh and you have to use trickle chargers on them not normal chargers
  8. life i dummo , got one for the vert that i have never fitted , i will say be careful on fittings as some like mine come with just a couple of bolts to hook it up so therefore its a lead change to get it to fit , ok if your going in the boot , bit of a shitter if its still in the front

  10. carbon does 2 things , it slows the gases through the engine thanks to piss poor casting by the manufacturers , simply put the interior surfaces are lumpy , carbon fills the gaps but grows how it pleases so doesnt give a smooth surface and replaces 1 jagged surface with another , it can also reduce the size of holes in the engine , it also adds weight to components to a very small degree making the engine work slightly harder however it also acts as a buffer and makes an engine quiet , it also stops to a degree vibration but it can in extreme cases create more vibration but you would need to be burning oil to see this so this stuff kills off all the carbon yeah ? the result will be for a very very very short while a slight increase in power and mpg , call it say 1-2% , the sort of increase only and engineer can find but cant be felt my problem with shit like this is simply this , the engine to be coked up enough to have a real difference must have a fundamentalist problem in the first instance , its running rich as a bastard , without sorting this you will be in the exact same position within 1000 miles but down £100 for your trouble , showing a very short term effect is ok but once fuels running through it once more and under load i promise you that cars going to revert to what it was asda flog redex at £2.50 on special , stick 1 in once a month for the same effect

  13. seems fair , most cars i see are owned by ladys 50+ or lads out to enjoy themselves , performance isnt going to set the world alight unless you thrash it so that seems about right also , about the only thing id say is it can seat 4 or 5 at a push which given the shape is rather good , wouldnt say its fair to make out its a 2 seater
  14. if you cant get the moleys on it then another tip is to get a flat ended screwdriver and belt the shit out if it into the head of the bolt , this will allow you to then turn it plus the shocks from the hammering normally loosen the bolt , if it still wont turn then impact driver with once again a flat head on it
  15. ok my imput is this ,,, are you sure the readings are right ? skimmed head means more compression , gasket well your gunna notice its uber thick to reduce it that much , seems to me the reading could be wrong given its across the entire range and the engines running ok , can you borrow another gauge from somewhere
  16. as it happens i own both sets having the rotas fitted to my 5 and the rays waiting for a referb my choice would be hard to say , the 3 spokers are wonderful in the flesh , really outstanding , it brings something unique to the car instead of the wank gen 7 handy bendy wheels everyone seems to lash on , the rays are tough and look the part , super advans are nicer , normal advans are not , the others can look a bit dated the rotas given the dish and look are very very nice once fitted , in black it will IMO make your car look dirty , shabby and remanisant of a transit van , i dont do nice wheels that you cant even see , whats the point ? fuk touring car , be yourself i say so what would i go on ? i wouldnt , id try both on and take it from there ive also got more wheels than sense
  17. want to get an exhaust made up , previously i used tiptoppreformance , however theres no more adverts around and there not answering the phone so i guess they have gone to the wall , this leaves me slightly hanging as i dont know anywhere else that makes exhausts up in stainless so anyone got an idea , links or names of places where we can get them made up ?

  19. its ok your insurance states you have to comply to the law of the land , that means if you break the law your insurance becomes nil and void , because of this you get to drive to the station and the cops will not enact the tax and test bullshit , you will need to be booked in though with your registration recorded , so if you have the exhaust filtted and moted your ok ,,, just go directly to the station
  20. the second ( thats midnight ) it runs out otherwise the dvla will shag your wallet for lack of sorn to the tune of 80 quid , there is zero leyway , no days over , no seconds over , the only avoidence is taxing it or sorn the systems set up that you need to be a feckin machine , zero tolerance , rape you for money every time , dont hesitate and get it sorned online the night before it runs out
