  1. sadly i need to make a firm and far choise between 2 cars presently i have 4 cars and its all a little much , theres the mrs glanza which im not allowed to sell unless im replacing it with a loud shouty expensive car which is another auto , theres the vert which being honest is going nowhere , its a garden orniment but its my garden orniment if you know what i mean , so that leaves 2 cars , in an ideal world id have a garage with parking for 200 , flood lit and solar heated with humidity control , every snap-on tool avaiable to man kind and a well stocked fridge , however reality is a terraced small house with 2 cars out front , 1 slung out in the road at random and another round the corner left to fend for itself so which 1 so sell ? the beams , its ok it really is , i intended to get to nurburgring and back in it knowing i could get reasonable mpg , be able to post a good lap time and generally drive it knowing its a tough bastard and can get me anywhere in the world without incident , on buying it i instantly started to get it how i want it , im busy removeing the years of grime and shit plus removing any neglect i can find , im aiming to create a pokey good handling car clean enough to be a club car , it doesnt need anything doing to it to have it as a car but to have it as my car means i am still doing jobs on it as and when items arrive to make it that bit more special , driving it its ok , being frank the cs would slaughter it from every angle except for ease of use , there is no waiting till the oils warm , there is no 30 second wait while the turbo stops spinning , its piss easy to drive and a pleasure to jump in and out of the cs , where do you start , lets face it its wonderfull it really is , its faster than my old gt4 , it handles like a laugh a minute , i cant help but give it a sniff of throttle each and everytime i go out in it , the ability to stick daydreamers and the near dead into the rear view mirror is so impressive , for its age its got the wow factor it really has , and the condition , its not easy to find a decent gt4 , its extra hard to find a cs and to find 1 which is so clean ??? tough call , its also going up in value which is a bonus , ive watched 6 cars recently , the 3 granders sell easly enough , the 4 to 6 ( honest 6 friggin grand !! ) havnt , so based on what i paid im quids in ,,, however the downside ,,,, it got scratched by a local brat , its not the end of the world but the car would be called mint if it wasnt for this ,,,, it seriously pissed me off and because of this the trust in leaving it outside for the wankers of the world to bang into doesnt bear thinking about , paronoid maybe but for a good reason , also the cars standard , unmessed with , undicked about with , i dont have the heart to be the person who in 19 years becomes the 1 who starts taking it away from being a classic to becoming a project , i think its unfair on the car , any alterations have been done with the intention of changing things back to keep the old girl as she should , dont get me wrong if i had another then yeah id happly improve half the car but not this car , its not fair on it ,,,, this also means when im not driving it i get a bit bored with it , as soon as my arse hits the seat though its shittttt yeah great fun , but still ,,,,, our kid recons i should sell and buy a gt4 to walk the route id love to take , the cabs is waiting , he has a point and heres the problem could i ever replace the cs if i sold it and found i wanted it back ? well yeah for a price ( £4250 as it happens ) , would i spend this sort of money outright on a cs ? well i bid 5 grand on a car previously so maybe but its not a great position to be in , and the beams , its taken 6 months of hunting to find another , if i sold that its either import 1 or forget it as there uber rare so im stuck , the heart says keep the cs and the head says you have only just brought the beams ya dickhead so stick with it ,,, i just dont know what to do
  2. bonnet , both bumpers , boot lid and both doors , the colour can be the posts and the roof , also removing weight from all rounds means happy handling
  3. a grand seems a shame , a complete and running car being scrapped ! perhaps the wiring taken it out so who knows ? thats £4090 in todays prices , import cost of a grand , tax and piss about £500 assuming its mot ready , bye bye cs , another one bites the dust
  4. st205 ? insurance again i know , there bastards they really are if you could chill and save for a couple of years then that would be the very best place to be , if not then an interest free credit card is really the only thing that can help , tesco/virgin have 15+ months of interest free , if you could get a car with a value of 3 grand plus save a grand i recon you would be in bizz , thats 4 grand , that can get you the car your after easly enough privately , then on the sale of your car you would owe say 2 grand ,,,, call that a monthly payment to the credit card company of £170 for just 12 months and guess what , the cars all your , paid for !!!! on a loan your looking on £130 for the next 5 years , sod that ,,,, so it can be done for sure , just do your very very best to avoid interest there you go , thrown you a rope ( oh get your mom or dad to get the card bullshitting it to get the 3 grand limit if you dont have the credit rating , arrange a direct debt instantly to pay it off , dont whatever you do miss a payment )
  5. i love credit i really do , lets walk the math a second 6000 car ,,, (from a dealer so worth 4000 ) finance over 5 years at 19.9% + each year your paying 1200 in interest interest over loan period = £6000 plus paying capital back =£6000 total cost of car therefore is £12000 except in 5 years time the car has a value to it , depends on the finance offered it could be at this point the car is owned by yourself and your able to sell it ( unless its a personnal loan which can be alot higher on the interest rate ) , chances are the car your looking on is a 2003 model so it will be 13 years old and superceeded by a new model the ft86 , this would make your just paid for car worth about the same as a late gen 6 ,,,, so upto £1500 going on todays value now that sucks dick to me if you dont have the money dont buy it , if you really really must then get an interest free credit card and stick it on that , my sons 21 and id concider him a complete dipshit if he was to take out finance on any car over such a period , i also wouldnt expect him to have the car still in the year 2016 and if he did id expect it to be shagged just a thought
  6. for 2 of us in june ( hight of season ) direct flights with BA
  7. its a chance thing , if they land and are heavy then you could spunk a fortune , if however there light then you could be with wheels in no time at all , i guess asking them to weigh them is about all you can do in advance booked vegas today , im going BA as the service was shockingly good , easly the best flight ive had , £1551 for the 2 of us flight only !!!!! bugger
  8. believe it or not yes you can and its very very easy , the hotel will happly except them but you will need to make sure they get there when your already there , if the hotels booked then no probs , even if it isnt you can still have them sent bad news the carrier will fook you so hard you will feel the skin of your arse pressing against your tonsils , the cost per kiolo is a laugh a minute , a lightweight wheel is less than 9 kilo but with packaging its most likely to be about 12 , depends on the airline but you could face a royal shafting , takeing virgin its 2 bags weighing upto 23 kilo , after this its £35 per bag/parcel so your looking on £140 in excess baggage or more ! , then when you land you have to go through the red zone based on spending over the limited amount so will need to pay tax as you come through , they will require all recipts for the item and if you bullshit it saying you payed say £250 for them when they were a grand they can and will hold them to ransome asking a couple of grand in fines , did i mention law unto themselves ? its entirely down to the discresion of the miserable cantancerous wankstain whos pissed his life away watch people coming back from nice places day and feckin day , its more than likely it wont go well , if it helps and the boxies weigh less than 11.5 each then tape them together so it becomes 2 packages , as long as your under the 23 , hell if its 10 kg then tape 2 together then you only have to fit them all into your car along with luggage where are you stopping , who are you flying out with , im as i type trying to book flights for june but this bloody site keeps taking my interest , dam you ccuk dam you
  9. generally it goes like this you order and pay for them there either stuck in the postal service ( not good ) or courier ( better ) 3 weeks later they drop off a ship and customs goes ``hellooooo , we gunna shag someone here`` you recieve either a crappy bit of paper through the post saying ``hi , were customs and excise , were a law unto ourselfs and knowing full well you have already paid shit loads in tax the country of origion we are still intending to fook you backwards , have a bill for 30% of the cost of the item and we will hold them toransom untill you pay , hahaha you feckin mug `` or you recieve a letter/a million emails from dhl saying the parcels are being held to ransom so you need to pay another 30% before the bastards will release them you pay up and then another week or even 2 they finally arrive ,,,,,,,, scratched the 30% is an approximation , there are `handling fees`` to be included whatever the additional tax may be , its most likely they will be shipped via boat to liverpool or by air if courier depending on the amount paid in post , you can go directly to the bonded warehouse and cough up for tax and collect yourself , you would piss a day away and wouldnt save any ££ doing this but would get them quicker if the deals really really good and you honestly cant order the wheels through wheel mania or suchlike then fair enough but its alot of ballache , can be worth it though
  10. its never easy to give out prices , if people brought from a dealer then they will have paid approx 30% more ( or much more depending ) , private prices are lower http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201108380429089/sort/priceasc/usedcars/maximum-age/over_10_years_old/model/celica/make/toyota/radius/1501/page/11/postcode/cv92qe?logcode=p you can buy that for 1500 quid , cars with price tags such as this have a detrimental effect on prices , it normalises lower prices so sellers become lucky to get what they paid for them , such is life so if i were you id have a serious word with the dealer about p/x and see what he says , work out the exact maths , get a p/x price first then have a change of mind and talk cash , it may well be in your interest to sell the car on privately when you come to sell it look at cars in your local area on autorader , compare yours for a more accurate price , when selling aim high at first but allow the price to hit middle market value after a couple of weeks , this would be a fair price then
  11. say 3 grand on a good day and £2000 on not such a good day
  12. v nice , kindly park it away from mine so mine doesnt look a shit heap thought about the same with my interior , had a looksee round at vrs seats and so far nothing , i guess theres time , i was thinking black/silver for the interior as i find red a bit too bright , each to there own mind
  13. if you can get the wire make your own , the kit i have off ebay is to be honest wank , the earth strap is self tappered onto the rear leg turret , not on the top but half way up !!!! the live leads okayyyyyy but the ability to flex it shows the strength isnt there so not recommended IMO , if i were to require 1 id simply buy 12 foot of high amp thick as fook wiring and stick the ends on them myself
  14. cait asked for a simple version so i generalised rather alot hence throwing all terminology i thought she would come across , next i intend to enter the murky world of unsprung weight tyre thing , good tyres to the front or the back ? to me its this simple , if you drive hard enough that the rear tyres need to have the best rubber on them so it doesnt oversteer you into the curb then its more than likely your gunna stick it into the car in front anyway due to having shit rubber on the front ,,,,, the experiments shown are bollocks bullshit balls and just deceptive wank , they offer ONE circumstance and thats excessive cournering speed under wet conditions at which having the better rubber on the arse end is benificial , however this will happly give you lesser braking and steering abilitys which are IMO much much more important , so as you aquaplane like fook or bang into the car in front when you cant stop on the wet roads then thank vicky butler henderson for her ability to pass on daft infomation much better advise is to check your tyres regulally and replace when needed , check the pressures offen , and dont be a tight bastard using cheap shitty rubber , lash a few quid on quality tyres
  15. going faster ,,, than ,,, you ? now ive ``heard`` of this

  16. imagine a wheel on a car , now imagine your sat on the floor at the front of the car looking along the wheels , the wheel sits at 90% to the floor , ok so far , now caster/camber is the amount of degrees off of 90% perpendicular to the floor , so as you look at the wheel imagine a line running through it and lets call it the 12 o clock position , now when a car has toe in the wheel at the top leans in towards the inner wheel arch so say the 11 o clock position , toe out is the reverse of this with the wheel now in the 1 o clock , all cars are given a degree of toe in now when you lower a car ,,,,,,, the wheel is on a wishbone , the wishbone attaches to the hub which the wheel attaches to , the bottom of the suspension is also attached at roughly this point , the car is built to have suspension legs of a length so the car has a certain stance to it , once you sit in you take up whats known as the sag of the suspension travel , this is a set size and there is a given amount on where the car is sold , however once moving you go over bumps or place load on the suspenion by cournering , the suspension compresses shortening the suspension leg which in turn alters the angle of the wheel to the 11 o clock position , due to centrifugal forces the tyre will deform creating a good size footprint on the floor and heres the kicker , when you lower a car you shorten the suspension leg and therefore give the wheel the same angle ( 11 o clock ) as it would get under cournering , however because the tyres not under load the tyre will only sit on the edge of the inner rubber and not accross the entire footprint , this means you get excellerated tyre wear , loads of wheel spin and the inability to friggin stop , once the caster is adjusted then the car will handle beautifully but untill then someones made their car worse hope that explains it
  17. wear just down the middle = over inflated tyre wear just down the outer edges of the tyre = under inflated tyre wear to either outer or inner edge only = a host of things be it wishbones to caster camber angles to ball joint to loads of things , either way if you have an inner or outer edge with excellerated wear then its worth getting the car checked out , as has been said if you lower a car due to the angle of the suspension being changed the wheels splay out creating premature tyre wear
  18. bollox not a single picture of the rear seats ill see if i can find the time/hope its not pissing down and ill get a picture of them tomorrow , not exactly the same but close enough to see what the job consists of
  19. could you guys wave a camera around at the cars you see there next time its possible , it would be nice to see the most southernly uk celicas
  20. on the 5 the rear seats are unique to the vert , there about a foot wider on the normal car with the vert being a squoshed together 4 seater not a 5 , the turrets of plastic either side hold the mech for the elec windows plus the hydrolic rams for putting the roof up and down as for the cover , yeah i noticed that , this was 1 of 2 advertised at the same time , the other was listed as maybe for a 5 ,,,, as it happens i already have 1 in a bag
  21. yeah nay bad how are speedbumps in it ?
  22. why not ask him , wait around untill he shows then go complaining at him telling him theres a whitness , take the piss and see if he confesses , tell him the cops are looking for him and give him a sheet of paper with the crime number and officers name and number and ask what hes going to do about this ,,,, you never know it may work , if hes a pub dweller then call the cops on seeing him leave , phone the local station and say you have seen a drunk man get into his car , struggle out the car park and weave down the road , you never know
  23. to me this is easy peasy , i figure what do i accualy want from a car ? looks ,,,, to me the gt4 easly has it , there are nice gen 7`s but not many and serious £££ room ,,,, the 6 is like a cave , you will hate the bloody rear strut brace mind fuel ,,,, the gen 7 easly , however is i were to go for a gt4 its a gas conversion baby , not only will it save serious £££ easly putting it into the same range as the 7 but it will add value to the car , once again a remap is in order which will pay for itself in a year , wheres the money come from ? paying £3500 for a minter , cant to that with a 7 reliability ,,,, majority of problem threads are on gen 7`s so i think its fair to say there not brill , the gt4 costs when it does go wrong , depends on the individual , to me cars do go wrong from time to time but as long as its not too offen value for money ,,,, for the go the 6 , all gen 7`s are losing money wheres gt4 are not only holding stable , simply put you wont lose cash on it , all mods add value to it as its too old to be worrying about keeping it standard , also simply put a 4 wheel drive turbo charged sports car will always have a residual value so to me the winner has to be a gen 6 , its tough , its very reliable , it gives someone far more than a 7 ever could , its not a `new` car but doesnt come with a `new ` price either , its not to say the 7 is a bad car , that wouldnt be fair , its just the 6 is better all round
