they are also known as Dry Batteries for those of you that havnt heard of Gel Batteries. TBH I dont see the point in getting it...they are really expensive and the advantage is that you can orientate them in any direction.....thats all (maybe some weight saving). they are better suited to a race car where the battery it positioning in an awkward way and a dry battery helps prevent fluids from leaking which would happen in a conventional battery. A road car is designed to take a battery upright so I would rather spend the extra cash on other kit such as a grounding kit or an uprated alternator (in terms of electrical mods I mean) HTH

if it was fixed the next day then PERFECT! it means it was reported and they done nothing about it so they will HAVE to pay out. The ones they dont pay out on are the ones that were not reported so they couldnt possibly do anything about it since they didnt know it existed. They have an aim in which they will repair all potholes within a certain time frame of them being reported. If its outwith this timeframe (which they usually all are) then your quids in....well not really since yout just claiming what it would cost you to fix because it was their fault. potholes.co.uk and fillthathole.org.uk explain all the steps necessary to put in a claim.

Anyone powder coated tech 5 alloys? Qu about the plastic studs
Gstraw replied to Gstraw's topic in General Celica Discussion
Ah yea, I do remember that chat happening a while ago but wasnt sure what the outcome was....if Daz managed to reuse the bolts. I tried searching for the thread but couldnt find anything on it :s (tbh i can never find anything on here the way i search! dont know if im not doing it correctly) Kev, what I was meaning was im planning on getting them straightened and refurbed- probably in a silver again although I am contemplating a gunmetal or black. Not sure what would look better but failing that an OEM silver may be the way forward for my Red GT. The refurber also said that if they are plastic, they would drill them out and most people dont bother refitting them after- not sure if that would look like a kid missing his front two teeth though! -
Hey I'm lookin to get these done ASAP however I think the studs are plastic. The wheel refurber said that if they are plastic they will be drilled out and I will need to find replacements to put back in. If they are metal, they will remove them and replace them after the treatment. I'm sure they are plastic and was wondering where I can get replacement plastic bolts from? Also any idea about the dimensions of them? Thanks

Re: Xenon Kit in Upgraded LED Headlights?
Gstraw replied to J9TKO's topic in General Celica Discussion
Ditto. Mouse, our car looks fab! Also my headlights came with bulbs which weren't even for the car. After a lot of trail and error I concluded that these lights take H1 lights and not H4 or H7 which was supplied with the headlights -
I think you have to remember that this is a sports coupe and as such, it will like a thrashing, it will handle better (at the expense of a harder suspension) and there will be more road noise since the cabin isnt lined with layers upon layer of sound deadening. Its quite a raw little car if you ask me. There are mods you can do to make it more comfortable for sound, also changing the tyres will help with the road noise. A short shifter will make changing gears much tougher than it is already so not sure I would advise that based on what your saying. FYI, most people on CCUK get a celica, lower it and add stiffening bars to the suspension to make it handle even better and the ride comfort goes out of the window. They also usually put on a custom exhaust and an air intake to get the engine and exhaust note even louder lol - Are you sure you wanted this type of car?lol

I would say definitely get a gen7 GT- I have one and it's class! No point in spending thousands making your gen 6 up when you can get a gen 7 which is an all around better package. It looks great and goes well out of the box so you will be happy for at least a decent amount of time. Then there are a great number of upgrades available for the gen 7 too-looks and engine mods like air filters and cams up to supercharger if it tickles your fancy! Plus the gen7 Gt looks miles better!!

Planc wow-that's not good at all! It's supposed to help acceleration since its lighter so if it doesnt do that then forget that! Lol

Best products to use to clean & protect Alcantra seats
Gstraw replied to Goodz's topic in General Celica Discussion
I have a dark grey and I use the betterware leather cleaner-any milky liquid one works for me! -
Yeah don't rely on the fuel bar- you have to brim till you see the fuel then drive, brim again. BUT what you should do is: Empty your tank then fill up 15litres or so with the new fuel and reset your ecu So it learns the the fuel. Then once empty, fill up again with the same fuel to the brim so you have a visual indicator. DON'T reset your ecu now because the car already knows the fuel.reset the odometer and Run as many miles as you want-I.e if you want to find out your mpg to work fill up, drive to work and fill up again until you see the fuel. That will tell you how many litres you have used to drive to work. After you reset the ecu, the car is sluggish always since its learning so don't reset the ecu on the run you are using to measure mpg. I found 95 Ron gave low mileage and low power Momentum gave high power and low mileage V power gave high mileage and high power

Best products to use to clean & protect Alcantra seats

You do get alcantara cleaner but it's expensive. I actuall use a spray leather cleaner to clean my alcantara since its not very harsh. Vacuum the seats then I spray the seats with leather cleaner and let it soak for a few seconds then I rub the dirt off- stuff does come off. Seats are usually pretty wet for a while after but that's the idea- a deep clean with a non harsh product. -

Hey guys You my have noticed a thread I done earlier. I'm in London today( hillingdon but I'm willing to travel) and was wondering if there are any supercharged celica owners free today from now pretty much till 5pm for a mini meet? I would really want to drive a supercharged car or speak to an owner since I'm thinking of doing this myself. Since I live in Aberdeen, there are no sc celicas up there so I could really benefit with a small meet. If anyone is free please let me know and Iwe can exchange numbers. I'm willing to travel to come meet youz Many thanks!!

FYI, This is Not sound proofing mate it's sound deadening. It will make it feel like your cars made of wood- so it's more solid and less tinny so it's ideal to stop rattles and mostly to get better sound quality from speakers. After I forte min people can hear my music on the outside more clearly now since the metal around the doors does not rattle as much. It is a bit quieter yes but not sound proofed at all Hth
