Thanks, is it possible to change the stock downpipe without engine out, longer term I would like the MSDT manifold anyway
Yes it comes out ok

Is there going to be a mk2 SC manifold too, my stock manifold has started making a rattling noise
If it's not the heat shield it will be the weld on the splitter inside the down pipe. Manifold is 4 into 2. Then downpipe is 2 into 1.
Mine did the same

You should all know do this for selfish reasons and to satisfy my own curiosity. You guys just happed to be along for the ride haha.
And what a ride its been

Looking forward to this one.
Bumblebee is living proof of what you can achieve Dave. I know the manifold wasnt cheap even though you did it at cost for me but it was the cheapest 50bhp I've ever achieved
Thanks again

Updates are rare in these lean times for racing enthusiasts.
So I share this with you. The latest edition to the Scuderia MSDT Race Developments:
2hp of purebred Bambino Kart. Whoop whoop
Shame it doesn’t fit the hoist but since I can lift it pretty easy by myself it’s not so bad.
Rumour has it the private owned Kart circuits might open for limited owner testing from 1st June, we’ll wait and see. Hoping my boy can get out and play soon.
Lucky lad

Cant think who you are all talking about
Or can I?
If you are going to boast or just pass on information as to how you gained extra power you really need to keep the proof and I dont know why they havent. Make your own mind up.
If you dont see proof be sceptical as to the information provided.
There are always going to be people who dont believe your power figures that's partly why you need to keep printouts. No arguement then.
I have every print out for every tune I've had. More so I can see how things have improved with interim mods but also for the non believers.
I do my best to help anyone out as do many people on here but I will only give advice on what I'm confident to give advice on. Id rather say I'm not sure than give bad advice.
I didn't enjoy the fb post tbh and tried to get it closed.
It started to get a little nasty imo.
Instead of all the arguing and name calling people should have just had a little laugh to themselves.
I must be getting old as a few years ago I'd have done the same.
Not sure this post really gets over what I'm trying to say. All I can say is I've done my best

What the ?
Let's hope the shells and crank are ok after having all those particles flying around in the oil. Fingers crossed.
I hope you are going back to the company that made them for you to give them a round of #ucks
-
Ouch. Not the news i was expecting to hear.
Fingers crossed it is a manufacturing issue and can be easily resolved.
The thing I really like about you Dave is that you are always the 1st to hold your hands up if something doesn't work always keeping us in the loop. Good honest feedback wether good or bad.
Good luck for the up coming season and hopefully we will get out on a track day together this year. Might even let you take Bee out for a few laps
Ooh something to look forward to is the heated front screens should be ready next week. Will try get time to call and check tomorrow

If you still find yourself struggling, leave a link to the thread you want saving and I will copy and upload it for you.
You are a star thanks. Will give it a bash at weekend 1st. Thank you

Thank you

Damn. Still I'm sure you will get it sorted. Bloody electronics. Hardware failure ? Does that point to a sensor or coil pack ?

Can’t fit me in unfortunately, Will’s having a re-fit and upgrade so I am going to RRR Engineering, another 2ZZ specialist like Will. They are Lotus and cosworth specialists and run the same hub dyno system as Will so I’m hopeful I should get a good level service. I can admit to being nervous about running it with anyone else other than RDT mind, he knows the car, the celica and the 2ZZ so well. RRR do come highly recommended by a few high level motorsport teams I still have association with so I’m as comfortable as I can be. I had a long chat with them, given them my brief which is broadly for drivability over a peak power number, let’s see what they can do on the 13th Jan.
Real issue and reservation I have is that even though it’s the same dyno it will never give a true back to back with the previous runs so will I know definitively if these cams are any good? Guess I won’t, secondly is that down to the cams or the tuner? I won’t know so it’s a gamble but the only way to get up and running for February so have to go with it. Can always go for a power run and map check at a later stage with Will.Hopefully wont be much difference between the 2 dynos. Look forward to seeing the results

interesting question, been looking into it and it does not look like we can do this. However what you can do is click file > Print > change printer to 'save as pdf" and then save. You will have to do this for each page though.
Thanks for that

Is there an easy way to download my full build thread to my pc please ? I'm a dinosaur when it comes to tech

Nice one Dave. Keep us all updated.
Really do enjoy reading your posts. Good to see someone still pushing the boundaries. Where would we be without people like you ?

I'm not sure if my pockets are deep enough for another design process. I knew it would be be expensive to go through this process but it all go out of hand really. I had gone so far, had gotten in quite deep financially but the costs kept coming, I was close to binning it but then I would have completely wasted the money and had nothing to show for it. I can see why no-one but the big players can do this, its a big investment. I had a lot of free help along the way from old colleagues still in the biz who ran some of the more specific design verification works like the FEA on the standard rocker arms to make sure they could take the forces I will be throwing at them. ANYWAY...
FI cams.... its doubtful sorry, its just to big an investment and there is no market for them in reality, I would have to sell hundreds of sets to break even. Likely no-one would buy them
Its such a big outlay with a substantial risk of getting it wrong. I'll never say never but for now I'm still getting over the trauma of this process
I was joking Dave. I can only imagine what the costs are
-
Good luck and fingers crossed.
I guess if these work you will be designing cams for the fi peeps
