  1. I always fill to the brim. They say you can save fuel by filling less by running a lighter car but I reckon you lose out as prices go up a couple of times a week sometimes. At least if I fill the tank I keep the cost constant for that tank. As for pay at the pump - be careful. I got my card cloned by a pay at the pump machine. I will NEVER use them again. They had a camera fitted om the pump too to try and snag my pin......
  2. I had a Celica GT ST202 and before that a Rover 400 I have a long list of crap cars Including; Morris Marina, Opel Kadet, Austin Allegro, Hillman Imp!
  3. Pm Jimmylehs Luke. He has done this mod a few times and can walk you through what needs to be done
  4. Needs a WRC Spoiler but I must admit that looks quite smart! As for the camp driver ..... Oh dear! Lol!
  5. Bad news Dawn! Listen get yourself a TOAD AI606 fitted. Even if you have to use a credit card it will be worth it as you keep having to pay to get the damage fixed. Sellers on eBay that I used a few years back. Was £205 fitted. Bargain. Probably a bit more now but still.
  6. I swap my fronts & rear every 6 months to even things up but yes fronts will wear faster than rears. TBH it sounds like you need some new front tyres if the insides are badly worn. Don't risk it on worn tyres especially in the wet. I learnt the hard way .... Get the rears moved to the front and put new tyres on the rear. And then have the tracking done - properly by a 4 wheel laser tracking machine. It'll cost you £50+ but it's definitely worth it.
  7. GT4! Done over 50k miles in mine with nothing more than regular servicing. Just don't buy a dog.
  8. Always sad to hear this kind of story. What have you got to lose mate by reporting it? Do it - don't let the bastards get away with it!
  9. The only issue I have with white wheels is they get grubby so quickly and then they look gash. On silver I'd go for darker wheels. Or gold / bronze?
  10. Are the lights flashing when you reconnect the battery? Just hit the black button once. This should work. It foxed me a while back.
  11. This is spot on! something like 56mph in 5th (in the gen 5 & 6 anyway) is the most fuel efficient. And that's about 2800 rpm and not labouring the engine.
  12. Broken fogs do not constitute MOT failure. Put some selotape over it to stop bits going in or coming off and replace when you can get a good one.
  13. Having imported things from Japan I think you will find that customs very easily find things thrown in boots. Not only will you have to pay duty and VAT but the company importing will be heavily fined for trying to sneak an item in. I doubt you'll find anyone to do it that way. Unfortunately when you add shipping, agents fees, duty, VAT, customs and handling + transportation fees it all adds up. Double sounds a bit high but I generally found that you paid at least +50% on the original price. So buy for £500 expect to pay £750 minimum delivered, in reality more. The other problem is the pound is so weak now it has almost lost half its value against the yen in the last 3 years. This means the price if you are paying in pounds but having to convert to yen can fluctuate over night. Hence why I no longer bother to import as nothing can be had for cheap right now. However, find a company that will do this for a fixed price and you may be able to keep some of the costs down.
  14. Voted Leigh! You might want to mention you are PlasticGeordie2007 as many people may not know this
  15. The only flaw with the above is that petrol is now up to £5.80 a gallon so you need to readjust that a bit 40 / 5.8 = 6.9 272 / 6.9 = 39mpg Of course the best way to measure mpg is from a tank to tank fill up over a few cycles.
  16. Get some Phillips or Halfords extreme bright 55W series bulbs - about the best you can do without moving up to HIDs
  17. They are too bright, will get very hot, melt things and then you will have a new post about your car catching fire.
  18. Welcome back Dan! I'll take a tenner on Feb 14th please! Let's see some pics then!
  19. Yeah but your car has only done 20 miles since fitting!
  20. I have heard that Magnecors aren't very reliable ......
  21. I sent one last year using parcel force. Only cost £20.
