Smwebb1993 Posted January 31, 2016 Report Share Posted January 31, 2016 I wonder if someone could help me also had anyk d had this problem, I have a 2000 celica vvtli which when I accelerate harshly it splutters and back fires but the wierd thing is that it doesn't do this all the time, it doesn't do it on idle just occasionally on harsh acceleration, what does everybody reckon this could be? splinter Posted February 1, 2016 Report Share Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) Struggling to spark. I would check plugs, air filter and clean the MAF as a quick first step. With an ecu reset.
