c_jnz
Just wanted to know if anybody with smd LED's in the dash/center console experience any problems? Usually only twist lock, not 501's or festoon fitments. All 3 of my cars have them fitted in the dash and all three flicker and turn on and off from time to time. I went for them in the GT4 because the standard bulbs were very dim. I used the existing fitting so they were a tighter fit and made sure they were a good connection and did not move around, worked fine for about a month before they now flicker on and off, checked connections and nothings changed. The LED's in the other 2 are now doing the same, when they work they are great, but at present they are all a load of shite. I have used those different coloured rubber sleeves on my last car, although not as bright nothing seems to work as well as standard bulbs, for me anyway? tombrady
Maybe just the connection pins need spreading out a bit for a good connection.
mindone
I agree with the the connection issue, try taking them out of the holders they come with fit them directly to the screw bit that holds them in place, sort of what spree says in his instructions that i got with my kit. c_jnz
I never used the connectors they came with, just took the smd and used the existing fitting. Going to take them all out and solder them to the fitting see if that makes a difference. Guess that's why you only tend to see LED's soldered to the pcb
