Serratia
I've been looking at these wheels in gloss black multispokes for the track as they only weigh 7.8kg per rim and are only £440 for the set brand new. I know these are a cheap wheel and won't be as strong as forged lightweight track rims but as i ll only be using them on the track and wont be playing "dodge the pot hole" on our roads the risks of bending them out of shape will be low. http://www.wolfrace.co.uk/wolfrace_news_details.php?newsID=58 Any info/comments much appreciated. PjMetalHead
The white wolfrace are my ideal wheels, been looking at them for quite a while
johnyboy1976
Look ok to me - as you say if only track alloys as long as they do what they are intended for then you will be happy. The wifes pro race 1.2's look similar and they are a good strong lightweight alloy. My new ones weigh 7.6kg a rim - for 18 x 8.5 - but ive been after a set of these for years
tctech
actually surprisingly strong wheels i had a set on a tarmac rally car and never broke one, just werent ideal as the set i had were multifit ,but if you are leaving them on the car and not having to remove them every time you come in to the pits they should be fine
Serratia
Sounds like a good choice then, I do prefer the look of the pro race 1.2s but they are about £140 more expensive and in 17 x 7inch they come in at 7.9kg. Johny, has your missus got the 16 inch then? I'm afraid they wouldn't clear my calipers. http://www.alloywheels.com/7x17_Inch_Team_Dynamics_ProRace_1.2_Racing_Flat_Black_Alloy_Wheels_Only
johnyboy1976
no 18's - its a gt4 so callipers are huge
rpsmith79
Or you could have a look at my Enkei's http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?/topic/139695-alloy-wheels-enkei-16x8-lightweight-forged-wheels/
Serratia
You got me exited then Rich but I remembered they are 16s and will in no way at all clear my calipers I'm afraid. My 17inch Tech 5s only clear with 15mm spacers fitted
rpsmith79
Is the clearance on the diameter or the width, remember they are 8" wide
johnyboy1976
ST205's run 315mm discs and massive callipers - as long as the alloys are wide enough and of a decent ET - say 35 or better then theoretically should fit. Your brakes wont be anywhere as big as mine - 345mm discs and huge 10 pot callipers and i can get away with 17's if ET35
Serratia
Johny has got me on the pro race 1.2s as I've find they do them in 5 stud fitment in anthracite, here's a pic of a set for a mini http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/carreracaballo/6441787501/ Rich my tech 5s wouldbt fit as the calipers were too long if you know what I mean, the spokes were catching the top of the caliper. Heres a couple of pics with the finichis

Serratia
I think they look great mate. You want to sell them? I'm loving your powdercoated undercarriage
sr666
If you like them then why not go for a set of these. Similar yet cheaper. I dno't know about the weight of them but these are very nice too IMO http://rimstyle.com/alloywheels/detail/?car_model_id=11590;wheel=inovit_tarmac_tr17_wh;dia=17 If not then I don't know if the pro lite's you've found come with fitting kit but again if not then http://rimstyle.com/alloywheels/detail/?car_model_id=11590;wheel=wolfrace_pro-lite_wh;dia=17 Personally I prefer the Inovit's as they don't look quite so crowded so you can see more of what's behind them so would suit better but that's all IMO
Serratia
Those Inovit Tarmacs look great but im struggling to find a weight for them. The best info i could get was from a scooby forum from a lad who said he e-mailed inovit and they came back with "about 10kg"
rpsmith79
You might find this site useful Ant http://www.wheelweights.net/ Although no Inovits on there unfortunately
Serratia
Cheers Rich, I have that site book marked along with a few others, but there are soooo many wheels out there its hard to track down the weights. I also think manufactures are reluctant to publish weights if they are 10kg or over as it puts people off who are interested in weight saving Edited June 11, 2012 by Serratia
sr666
Personally I'm not so sure about the weight saving. I'd go for something because I like them lol
