Gimba
I'm going to do an oil change soon, and was wondering whats the better option to use to get the car up. Ramps or jack stands? Anyone got experience in using either of them and what they prefer?
sid1100
I think jack stands easy peasy on a gen 6 tho, would`nt have thought much different.. Edited October 24, 2011 by sid1100
Waveydavey
Just use axle stands, all you need do on the gen 6 is remove drivers wheel and then part of the archliner/undertray and the filter is right there. piss easy 20min job. Briano
get yourself a spare set of wheels jack one side of car up with trolley jack + slip 2 wheels underneath jack otherside and do the same, give you plenty of room to get underneath and because the car is level you will get all the oil out

keef-b
You're probably better off with jacking the car up and putting it on axle stands. I've got a set of ramps and my Gen 7 cannot drive forward onto them without the front lip hitting the ramp before the wheels make contact - makes the ramps kinda useless! The car can be reversed onto them but you don't need the cars arse in the air to change the oil do you?? -
