As a non-engineer I have a problem...garage replaced OSF hub and rogered ABS sensor in the process. Easily done apparently. Replacement 'modified' sensor (from a different Celica type) has now gone bad. What should I do? otherwise the car is perfect. Thanks for your advice. Anthony

Fit a new one from a Lexus. It will need slight modification to fit.

Xanadu. This is really good news. Apologies for delay replying but hospital visits etc. Have ordered Lexus part...Anyway, when you say 'splicing into the loom', is that just splicing onto the connector already there? Any and all other info. will pass on to engineer who will hopefully do the work. Thank you for any further advice. Anthony

Yes, it's not "plug 'n' play", so you will have to remove the connector from the new replacement and use the old one that's on the car now. It was possibly done the same way when the last replacement was fitted, unless you were lucky enough to have matching male/female connectors.

Xanadu. I am very grateful to you for this info. Have the Lexus sensor already. Just need to wait for the garage to have some skilled mechanic time... Best. Anthony

Most of the credit has to go to Paulus3476 who took the time to find this solution for all of us.

Thanks, again, Paulus.

Many thanks to Paulus3476 and Xanadu. The Lexus ES350 sensor has been working fine for over 2 months. And the ABS itself works, which is what it is all about.
