  1. She's right, you know. That'd stand up in court. Angus
  2. So no-one could get a hairdresser's, eh? Gee. Going back to some of the first challenges, many pages ago ... no-one could get the Angel Of The North, seemingly because you couldn't get your parked anywhere near it. I investigated the other day, so here's that challenge finally done ... Better change the current one then. OK - your Celica at a bus stop. Angus
  3. Does this count? It's probably not 202 black, but it's a different car and it's black ... If so, next challenge is your car outside a hairdresser's shop. Should be easy enough, that one, surely? Angus
  4. Next ... your car and an electricity pylon. Angus
  5. OK, next up then is ... your car plus its reflection in water (puddle, river, harbour, whatever). But at least half the car has to show up in the reflection. Angus
  6. Jeez - I drove about 120 miles today, and NOWHERE was 12 miles from anywhere else. Closest I could get was this, which is taken at somewhere that's in between two places that are 12 miles from each other. Angus
  7. Anyway, it looks like a *real* 10p to me. So, before Bill chooses the next challenge, I'll just a slip this one in again. Who was it that had a pic of their car beside a Hurricane? Angus
  8. See Page 4 of this thread, where Celica Mike got one of a windmill. I refer you to my post a couple of pages back which had a list of all the things that had already been done ... but if you want to keep it as a windmill I'm fine with that cos I have 0 chance of getting that one anyway. Unless wind turbines count ... or bits of them (talk about stretching the challenge ). This is a blade of a wind turbine newly delivered to Boyndie Aerodrome near Banff. Anyway, sure someone can get a windmill ... we have a couple of Dutch members, for a start. Angus
  9. Next: Celica beside/under a cherry tree in blossom. Fingers out, people! Angus
  10. Have a PDF copy of the Gen5 chapter from the old book - interesting read, if a little heavy on the Carlos Sainz front. A bit broad-based for my liking, too, but good stuff nonetheless - and has the only ST185 cutaway picture I've seen. Angus
  11. Just to refresh everyone's minds ... I've nothing to do at work so I went through and made a note of all the challenges so far ... Spinacre Building, Plymouth Forth Road Bridge Newcastle Millennium Bridge A castle A windmill A chalk hillside horse Roman ruins A snack factory A swimming pool A fire engine A pier A Christmas tree A dog-related pub, with tinsel on the car A fish Impressive religious building A ship Bluewater Shopping Centre Reindeers A nice beach A clock tower At the gates of a theme park Santa's Grotto Outside a Premiership (Dutch) football ground Wild animals (horses) Local Toyota dealership A ten-storey building A train A statue/monument in your hometown A pub advertising live music on a chalkboard Anything that flies Near a stream or river Next to another Celica, with Xmas decorations By a "Hard Hats must be worn" sign With the driver in a bikini Outside an open fish'n'chip shop On the forecourt of a Merc, Porsche or Ferrari dealer Alongside an Artic lorry Starbucks coffee shop An old London Transport Bus Highland cattle A canal narrowboat Near an NCP Car Park sign "Welcome to <county/country>" sign A satellite dish that looks like it's stuck on your car A football stadium A TV studio A brown car Next to a Rolls Royce Beside a nightclub queue (cancelled) Next to a Boy-Racer-mobile Beside a red phone box with someone in it you don't know Another Celica the same colour, same Gen. With a Jet-Ski in the background With your cat (won by a guinea-pig picture) With a lady flashing stocking-tops Outside a Circus with a kid on a bike (cancelled) With a fried egg on With a teddy With some Tickled Pink merchandise Next to a stretch limo (cancelled) With Santa With cheerleaders (changed to random scantily-clad lady) Next to a boat At a hospital At a place of Higher Education Outside a tattoo shop Beside a "town name" sign Next to a Little Chef (modified to any fast-food) With one of your parents Next to an old church Next to a red pillar box At your local B&Q Angus
  12. So, seeing as the rules were relaxed ... Next one - your Celica and one (or both, if the other one feels left out) of your parents... Angus
  13. Fandabidozi! Well done. Think our nearest Little Chef is halfway to Dundee, so I'll be opting out of that one I reckon ... Angus
  14. OK, I'll revise that challenge seeing as it's been a while ... A photo of your Celica beside the "town" sign where you live. i.e. the sign that says "Aberdeen" or wherever as you come into the town so you know you haven't gone to Dundee by some dreadful mistake. Angus
  15. Here's a couple at Aberdeen University ... the first because that's the nice bit, the second just to show the sign! (Eagle-eyed viewers may spot that I washed the car between taking those pictures (2nd pic was actually taken first)! ) Next - your Celica outside a tattoo shop. Angus
  16. Aha! Only recently, I thought I'd take just such a picture. What we have here are BF77 "Ocean Quest" and FR77 "Ocean Venture". These are two of the pelagic boats that work out of Fraserburgh. Their targets are mackerel and, mainly, herring. They catch several hundred tonnes within a couple of days, and therefore only actually work for a couple of weeks a year. Rest of the time they're tied up just where you see them here. Don't let ANYONE tell you that fishermen aren't well off anymore ... any of them that are still afloat are doing extremely well for themselves, and that goes for whitefish and prawn boats, too. Now, before anyone doesn't accept this ... the next challenge is your Celica at a hospital. Clear signage must be in the picture to prove it's a hospital ... Angus
  17. Sure that one's been done ... can't think why else I would've taken this photo ... Try again! Angus
  18. Excellent pic, Bill. Couldn't tell you what the inside of a Gen 7 looks like, mind, but I'll take yer word for it ... Yon beastie looks a right punk rocker with the tuft of white hair and all. Next? Angus
  19. Guinea pig (my fave Hungarian word = "tengerimalacka" = guinea pig ) is OK. Dogs ("kutyak") are deffo out, though. Any domesticated furry animal approximately the size of a cat ("macska", "cica") - except a small dog ("kis kutya") - will do. (Hey, holidays coming up, I have to start remembering the lingo! ). Angus
  20. Assuming this is OK, next challenge is your car and your cat. Next door's cat doesn't count. Angus
  21. Bit out of date this one, but I just found it on a disc ... Same gen, same colour - but the one in front is one of those funny Euro efforts with a silly engine. Truth be told, it was that car that gave me the encouragement to do my wheels white, cos they looked good on it, despite being a bit tatty ... Angus
  22. Here's a Rolls-Royce... well, that's what RR drivers seem to believe they're in, anyway. Actually, it's a Ford. Thought I might get away with it having a RR engine, but apparently not. Angus
  23. A Rolls, eh? Could be a toughie up here. In the meantime ... way back at the start of this thread I promised to post a decent pic of the Forth Bridge when I got it. Lo and behold, I was down there yesterday so took the opportunity. Forth Bridge right, Forth Road Bridge left ... Hey - I bet not many threads have had over 10000 views! Angus P.S. Hmmm ... maybe time to visit the jetwash, eh?
  24. Well, there's still the satellite dish one running ... A brown car. Your Celica beside a brown car. Not a van, and must be recognisably brown - bronze doesn't count. Valid browns are the kind of range used on British cars of the 1970s, from the skittery Rover yellowy-brown to the deep mahogany of Austin Maxis. Angus
