CB is just screwed to the passenger side of center console. It's not pretty but it works.
We are nearly in Scotland now but the car has started to wobble through the steering under power
Chose a fine time to start that!

I've only got 2 off that list

Thanks so much guys. Thanks for your time and effort as well Daytona

It has been brought to my attention that we might not have made this clear from the outset. ALL the money donated is purely for the Orchid charity. The costs impliented in the trip are being covered by myself and Eddddddd.
The £2000 target is just a figure that we thought was attainable and we would love to raise that much for a very good cause.

I was thinking of putting a post in the meetings section to see if anyone wants to come see us off. Even if it is just to give us the finger lol

Quick update on the car. It now has a fresh MOT
Still quite a few things to look at before setting off (only 3 and a bit weeks left). My latest concern is the amount of play that seems to have developed in the diff, I'm wondering if this could be the cause of all the CV joint type noises I'm hearing.
She was a really pig to get through the emissions test so I'm now thinking the cam timing still isn't quite right as well.

Can't coment on the st185 vs st205 comparison but those in the know have already stated that on paper the 205 is improved.
If I had the money, space and time I'd be reconditioning an ST165 shell and fitting 205 engine and running gear. That would be my ideal Celica.
Still wouldn't swap my Nissan for one though.

Yeah, I may have gone a bit OTT there. Was just a bit shocked that all the 'little' things I thought I was gonna sort out seem to be a bit more serious. Possibly more of a reflection on me than the car lol
To give it its dues it relatively rust free and the bits that aren't dented or chipped and pretty straight lol

Had a bit of a session on the car at the weekend. A few checks and a few things to do for the MOT that's just around the corner. ...what can i say apart form we really should have looked at a few others before buying!!! Obviously its supposed to be a bit of a challenge and a sub £500 car isn't supposed to be perfect, BUT WOW!
Going back to my days of owning and playing about with my previous Gen6 and 3sge I was sure that after 100odd thousand miles it would still be bullet proof with the minimum of servicing. Sadly our R2R one seems to be a dog.
I'm still not sure where all the oil is coming from down the back of the engine but it doesn't seem to be the camshaft cover as I had hoped. The Cambelt had a 8-10mm split in it. Oil light is still on despite replacing the suspected sensor. I'm also pretty sure that the intake Camshaft is about 2 teeth advanced from the correct position.
Now hoping that the oil light is actually a dodgy level sensor and it's not a genuine oil pressure issue.
All good fun hey
If anyone else would like to sponsor to make me feel a bit better about the impending brakedown (the car, not me) then PLEASE do. Details are a few posts up Thanks CCUK peeps

We now have our Drivers Pack. Contents: lots of stickers and a CB radio.... Other than that I'm not sure (someone hasn't sent me the pictures yet)

I've just put details of Raffle in Club Chat forum ;-)

Only options are to move the engine forwards a couple of inches or move the car back by a couple of inches.

I'd have a bash but I'm no where near you.

Ceramic coating is widely available nowerdays. If you have a quality manifold it may well be worth the money as once done wit will very likely outlast the rest of your car.

Just wanted to say the whole back pressure thing goes out the window when your talking turbos. As long as you've got a capable wastegate to cope with overboost, no exhaust is best ;-)
I'm one of the firm believers in a bit of back pressure to help with the midrange on an n/a engine though.

Always ran momentum in my JDM cars.
Everything I've read about "performance" fuels over the years has led me to believe that the only difference the RON rating has is knock resistance. ie if your engine isn't on the limit it means squat.
Reason I used momentum is it's as close to the 100ron fule that my JDM cars have been tuned for.
V-power is a rip off and aimed at the type of people that watch top gear.

600bhp+ worth of turbos :-D

Sounds like you can contest your fine then. Write a letter to the station saying you are going to take them to court.

It was the Milau viaduct Ian. We have loads more photos including ones with Bill. Photobucket isn't working well out here though. Will try to get them on our FaceBook page though. Search for 'Team Go-Nads' anyone that hasn't liked it.
