  8. Thanks Planc. Will look forward to hearing from you. Am now concentrating on replacing all 4 discs and pads, plus some rear suspension work. The old girl was well maintained early on, but left lacking in recent years. I suppose that is why she was cheap. Apart from the spoiler, which has spoiler mange, Twinkle (my wife calls all our Toyota's Twinkle after the AW11)is in good condition despite high mileage. I will no doubt be looking for an inexpensive way to bring the spoiler back to something near good to perfect in the next few months. deepee
  9. Yes, the led works perfectly. Just does not recognise or be recognised. Funny, I had this problem with my Terrano a couple of years ago. Got the local Ford expert onto it, and followed Ford's instructions for the Maverick. Once again it worked perfectly on the main (this time) but not on the spare. Funny old stuff this central locking/alarm!
  10. Sorry, been away over Easter. Yes. LED top right. Now for the interesting bit. When we bought the car main fob was not working and spare was in use. So all this trouble is with the spare. Have put new battery in each. Main fob still does not operate, and spare fob started working again after 24hrs or so. SO, everything back to "normal". Would like to get main fob operating but I would think that it has lost its connectivity, and this will now be a case for Mr. Toyota, in which case I will probably live with the status quo, unless there are any easy answers out there. deepee
  11. Thanks, tried that but to no avail. Actually the siren has not worked now for over a year. It was embarrassing when it did! Held open down for a good minute. Feared for my new battery! Celica is now Gen 6 1998
  12. Have just got back from week end away and battery has died in the key fob, leaving me with no central locking. Can do manual only, but when I put key in the ingition the hazards flash for about 20 secs and the red warning light on the console stays on. Car seems to work normally. Have fitted new battery to fob in fastest possible time but fob will not connect to car. Any help out there please? deepee
