  1. It seems as though your mind is made up.- if its trouble free motoring then no car is going to suit especially a Gt4 as you will be paranoid about anything and everything and it will be a re run of your last ownership experience Een 7's will need maintenance and do go wrong There is no way id restrict my choice of car just to stay in a bloody car club :lol;
  2. As said ive had a 7 so im no hater but id choose a honda DC5 over a 7 every time - for me just looks so much nicer and inside they are great. Plus 220BHP as standard , LSD , Brembo 4 pots and as said those recaro seats
  3. Only Looney will know whats best for him - id try as many cars as possible and see whats what. You could get a BMW 330D coupe - plenty of torque and really quick , lots of toys . well built , great MPG and RWD
  4. Ive driven a EP3 and yes to get most from it you are in the upper rev range but they aint exactly gutless at low revs. Rather have a DC5 over any gen7 inc a SC one - as you can SC the DC5 too. They just look better imo and inside they are streets ahead of the celica in terms of quality and they have Recaro seats - but just my 2p
  5. Ive owned both cars and spent nearly 8 years at Toyota and so i can honestly say that the 7 isnt made to the same standards as early Toyotas but thats not just the gen 7 but toyotas entire model range from about 99 onwards. That doesnt mean its a bad car - far from it. I enjoyed mine but id always wanted a GT4 so i scrapped it and bought one. For the prices they now fetch the 190's are a bargain - they are still far better built than majority of rivals and they do handle well in stock form and on rails with coilovers. Only you can decide if its right for ya. If i didnt like my GT4 so much and i was in market for a nice jap coupe id personally go for a Integra DC5
  6. Never driven a 190 - but ill admit that the 140's are not a fast car by any means. But if you want decent handling , generally reliable and good mpg they are ideal. Sure there are local members willing to let you have a blast in a 190
  7. There is no such thing as 100% reliable - eventually components on all cars will go wrong. You were paranoid as hell with your last gt4 so id not get another as i think you will be the same and be scared of problems occuring. Yes gen 7's are not as well built but they are more modern and mine did handle really well - but it did have Tein coilovers on it. Just try one - if you dont like it try something else
  8. Gen 7's do look good kitted up - i had one. But for me the st205 is best looking celica by far
  9. I gave our lass her pressies and asked her to wrap em up herself
  10. Exactly - best to start with a basic / standard car and add your own ideas / mods. Always liked that colour - burnt sienna is it?? Always thought a GT4 would look good in that shade.
  11. There is also a meet in Guildford on sun 8th January before that - and i should be with the wife so there should be at least another lass to talk to. And should be in a GT4 - not mine as its away having a engine built. The wifes - now same alloys but black And mine
  12. On a orange / bronze car id personally go black alloys. The mrs has black ones on her yellow GT4 and they suit brighter colours. There are a few celicas around aldershot - im north camp way
  13. when car is done i will try to save for one of these. http://www.racedatasystems.co.uk/motec-video-capture-system-vcs.html
  14. Some great members on here who go way above and beyond whats required. However dont trust Briano - my irn bru never arrived Deff a great community on here - certain other clubs could learn a lot
  15. Yer there was a black 205 that had reverse Castrol graphics in pink & aqua I didnt like it though - seen a silver one with black castrol graphics that looked ok
  16. What a fucking retard - £1500 - more chance of a crafty BJ off the queen next time im on guard.
  17. No SS on a supra - engine and gearbox virtually bombproof - just the fuel costs but on a GT4 they are going to be high
  18. A TT - for me buying a NA just wouldnt cut it as id always be thinking i should have gone TT
  19. If you can afford a loan mate then thats for you to decide Only reason id not get a GT4 is that you had a nightmare last time constantly worrying that it was going to break. Even though im not a fan myself why not go for a Supra ??
  20. As with others i think you should keep her as its a nice car Ive already said that if it was me id V6 it - lots of 3sgte cars out there but not many V6 celicas you never get anything back from modding cars - my build is at over £65K !!! - but dont skint yourself with loans mate if possible
  21. Id recommend a big brake upgrade - the GT4 ones wont fit directly onto a non superstrut car however with a bit of work you can get them to fit as people who do the swap to mcpherson set up on 205's get round it with slightly smaller discs ( gt4 has 315mm think they use scooby discs around 300mm ) v6 will give effortless performance with nice torque plus the option to maybe SC in the future Talk to spot as he might be selling his engine & ECU for the right price
  22. engines can be had cheap , but you need a bigger brake set up and ideally a gearbox and lsd off a mr2 turbo - been done before Id personally go for V6 power
