  1. @Kev 16vAwesome, thanks for the advice, I'll get the new battery ordered. Both the battery I'm looking at and the one I'm replacing are 005 so all good there (my car is a pre face lift, will specify that next time rather than just saying 2002). You are correct about Halfords info not being 100% accurate. While they correctly show the 005 batteries they also show the 053 for my car, would be interesting to see if that's just because mine is in the "crossover" year or whether their data is inaccurate more generally.

  2. My battery recently died but fortunately is within warranty. The previous owner had a Halfords own brand battery, my plan is to pay the difference and upgrade to the Yuasa battery which is not that much more expensive. On the Halfords website the description states:

     

    "Most vehicles require this battery to be registered with the on-board computer system. Therefore, a professional fitting at a Halfords store or autocentre garage is strongly recommended.".

     

    What does this mean with regard to a 2002 T-Sport? Do I need to register the battery? If so then how do I do that / can I do that myself?
