Hi have you noticed any coolant in the passenger side footwell? Has I had the same problem with my celica and it was the heater matrix. When you start your car up do you hear a sucking noise this is another indicator that your heater matrix is gone hot air passenger side and cold on the drivers side.

Your very welcome and good luck with the replacement engine this engine also went into the lotus With a supercharger so if you can get hold of one of them and put it in now that would be cool

Hello mate sorry to write again my vehicle is a 52 reg and it had done around 126000 miles when it went I’m not sure on the life expectancies on the matrix but this was 3 years ago. All the centre console and dash has to come out but first you need to get your A/C disconnected they don’t give you a lot of room and you won’t be able to bend the pipes speak to Paul at TCB TEL 01579383879.
Sorry I live in London because if this was your heater matrix I would give you a hand to get to it but if I can be of any assistance i will help anyway I can.

Hi Aaron I’m pretty sure this will be your heater matrix. What happens is it gets clogged up and the coolant doesn’t go round the matrix and at some point
it will fail sorry to say it’s how they designed it its on its side and the pipes run up and out into the engine bay. If you go to the passenger side of your car and pull the carpet back you will see the casing and the pipes coming out keep an eye on it mine did take a while to go. All the best Peter
