  1. Well these arrived today and the weather was ok, so decided to fit them today.

The original tailgate struts have just started to fail after 15years, so not bad.

All was going well until the spot weld on one of the plates holding the two nuts inside the body panel decided to snap off so the plate holding the two nuts fell down inside, behind the panel...........one hour later, job done.

  2. Well I finally finished off the engine bay today, after leaving it standard this year.

The oil catch can should have been finished a few weeks ago but the company who I ordered the silicone hose from, first sent me the wrong internal diameter, then the wrong length, then...........the wrong colour and wrong internal diameter and the wrong length :brickwall:
I received what I wanted in the end because they had run out of wrong options to send me

I cut away the black plastic to get access to the can and split some black tubing to finish off the edge.

No it’s not turning into a build
The rest is staying standard but I just wanted to tidy up the engine bay for show season next year ;)

Here are some before and after photos.

Ok I’m not talking about the track here but dose he mean Redex ? I’ve been using that for years.

In the past when I’ve used it for the first time on cars that I’ve just bought and replaced ignition parts at the same time, I’ve regained some of the BHP that had been previously lost with the age of the car.

The BHP before and after on the dyno’s that I’ve seen in the past when I’ve done it has been so significant, that I’ve always recommend people doing that before they start modding.

  4.

I had the same trouble with the Halfords ones with dust for my Gen 7

I then bought, what I thought was a cheap one off eBay.

Totally waterproof, inner fabric cover, ties at each wheel and a strap underneath the middle.

Had it a year now and still ok at less than half the price of the Halford ones.

If you want I can see if they are sill on there for you.

Unfortunately the outcome was kinda messy and I am not sure on the main piece right now but see how that ends up when it's fully dry.

Trying to get an even coat with a brush over semi-dried glue requires more practice. However, do have access to an old compressor which, if I can get working, might make the next attempt better.

On a seperate note, drove passed a Lexus SC with the same 3m Psychedlic wrap :(

    Looking at alternative colours now.

Martin, that is stunning mate. I wasn’t expecting that.

    Re: Lexus

We can’t have that driving around on the manor :nono:

He was most probably just visiting someone and now he’s gutted because he’s seen a better car with the same wrap as his

What have I done to mine today? Had two separate occasions when I had to take a watering can out to slosh off birdshit. Gotta look after the ceramic coating until the weekend when it should be fully cured and I can wash her

I know exactly how you feel.

That’s the only reason why I have to keep mine under a car cover, the birds :brickwall:

    Painted some engine plastics

Maybe I should of used grey primer and not white... They look more pink than red in this picture.

But, this is just the base. Assuming I can pull off what I am going to try with these. Got it to work once so far out of a lot of attempts but running out of time so need to do it this week.

Of course, if it doesn't work then these plastics will be ruined and I will need to buy some more for the next attempt :(

I’m very curious to see the outcome mate :popcorn2:

I know what you mean actually! To help a bit more cold air get to the filter, last night I installed an air duct from the front bumper to just underneath the filter. Not sure how effective it will be, but dedinitely can't hurt emoji16.png IMG_20190627_220351.jpg

That looks really good but be careful.

I did the same thing on a a Hyundai coupe but if there is a lot of rain or deep puddles do what I did and disconnect it from inside the engine bay just in case.

Nothing exotic unfortunately Spaff. I handed over my 107, celica and my Mrs 108 for another 108.

She has the 1.2 VTi engine in her current one and it is shocking for crawling in traffic. (great for a car designed for city driving) she loved the way the 107 drove bit didn't want to sacrifice on the benefits the 108; so went for the 108 with the same 1 Litre toyota block from the 1st generation Ago/ C1 / 107's.

At least if you close your eyes it sort of sounds like a V6, sort of.

Sorry mods for the heresy pic [love you!]

Please don’t tell me mate that you took that photo at a car meet ;)

  9. Certainly is a nice day Debbie :)

I’ve just finished cleaning the car, as I have been working at a Showground this week.

Some of them can be horrible places for your car with the dust and grit they get covered in

Was at japshow yesterday. Got myself some new wheel nuts and carbon fiber vinyl wrap while I was there and also fitted and calibrated my modded gauge cluster, it's got painted internals and the blue LED mod (not that you can see the blue LEDs through the orange numbers emoji22.png).67166f327499f2fc0a03e14fe611c8b2.jpg07001a967dcd4858548c9659ba99a645.jpg78a247ba0d04849943514e00fa11d6dc.jpg

That gauge cluster looked good when I saw it at the show, even better now that you’ve fitted it

I'm currently overhauling the gen 7 interior seats myself. This involves dying the leather and re-sealing it.

Let me know if you want to see any pics of the progress if it helps you make up your mind. There's a good company who will set you up with all the gear you need. For what you want to do it's probably about £60 if you are able to refurbing your existing pieces.

If it’s not to late, I’ve got a box of black fabric paint you can have, 6 Jars unused.

Send me a pm mate, if they’re any good to you.66094E43-AA5A-48D6-BBAA-D91BFAEFB017.thumb.jpeg.af005df5747686f9b11fea6a9fbb26e2.jpeg6658F377-1D14-41B9-A23A-C96221D60C91.thumb.jpeg.407003f9c71320bedef8514a7359531b.jpeg

Nice mate I thought mine needed claybar on Saturday but it didn't as I've been maintaining it.. as I spent 4 hrs getting it ready for the new forest meet using the new autobrite products.. It looked really good too plus not much needed for japfest next week...

    Yeah it looks good mate.

I like what you’ve  done with your petrol flap. The colour of the flag suits the colour of the car.

Going to be doing mine on Saturday in preparation for Silverstone, I dread to think what I'm going to get off of my paint!! Out of interest, roughly how long did it take you to do the whole car?

I washed it first because it was really dirty from working at a showground over the weekend then it took about hour and half to bar and dry it.
