Gold will look good but I think it has to be some sort of satin finish to look proper

Lightweight alloy fasteners of any kind are a nightmare. Round off easy as anything and corrode really fast. I change some oem to stainless steel depending what they are but that's all. Avoid!

The best hi temp paint I've found is the PJ1 range. Goes on easy straight to metal and leaves a lovely factory looking finish. Not many stockists now tho so get mine off eBay. It's brilliant stuff for engine bay brackets and stuff. Will be doing some of mine in next few days

That's great, thanks

Just wondering, has anyone ever contacted toyota to request things like manufacture date, build sheet, details of factory fitted options etc? Had anything useful back? Had to pay an administration fee?
It's general, but im talking from a gen6 point of view personally.
I'm fine with drafting a letter etc, but wondered if anyone has already tried it

Just don't leave them on too long then ☺
nah, trickle chargers and shut off ones are good, I used to use an Optimate one on the motorbike. Just depends what you're looking for and want to pay

I got a Draper one like in the link below. Can get them for under 30 on ebay and it works great

They only belong on the rear windows of 70s cars imo, where they look great, nowhere else

Didn't make sense to me, the item was cheap anyway, plus it had free postage, so why use and pay to post a big box. Weird. I had to re arrange delivery too, as I was out at the time. All for some sidelight bulbs!

cost of refurbing diamond cut alloys
in General Celica Discussion
Posted · Edited by 99GT
Hi. I've had a quote from somewhere to refurbish the standard gen6 diamond cut alloys. They're 15 inch.
They will blast, powdercoat, re cut and lacquer them and have stated a cost of 100 plus vat per wheel.
seems steep to me but they are local so i won't have to courier the wheels or anything, and they will remove and refit tyres and balance the wheels for that. They're also meant to do a good job.
I was hoping for more like 80 - 90 though tbh. Am I just being tight?!
