I only ever use this type and they're really good and quick to use too. The ones I've got are Draper.

Breakdown service or local mobile mechanic will be able to get it off

I've always been tempted to remove the spare wheel as that is really heavy being full size.
All the punctures I've had I've managed to inflate enough to get me home.
Though if I remove it I'll probably rip out a sidewall the next day. Lol

Are you definitely wanting LED sidelights?
Because I use the Osram Cool Blue sidelight bulbs and they're a nice clean white light.

Just thought I'd add something to this.
When I took the celica for its first MOT under my ownership, I'd done everything I thought needed doing in terms of safety, including new discs and pads etc.
I got a call to say the brake pipes had actually burst on the rollers during the test. Not the bits you can see, but the bit where they go under the plastic cover halfway down the car. Now, your average guy would be hard pressed to visually spot that.
If it hadn't been picked up at the MOT when would it have gone? The first time i broke heavily at motorway speeds? If someone pulled out on me?
I'm really glad the MOT test did what it was supposed to there.

Actually, just checked the front page of the website and there is a discount code on oil now for 35% off stated prices.
-
I used 10 40. I suspect different models may share the same filter. I buy my genuine parts direct from a Toyota dealer so I wouldnt know about ebay.
I think this is the oil I used last. I bought it when there was a good discount code on though
-
I went with genuine Toyota oil filter and whatever decent oil was on offer. Shell Helix I think it was at the time. Toyota filter will be fine. They know what they're doing. Plus you replace them often anyway

New wipers
Winter screenwash
Lube hinges
New tyres if pretty worn

You cant get fully in there to clean but you can enough. The main part to clean is the little adjusting flap thing and that's fully accessible. I'd definitely clean the existing one, but its your call.
Toothbrush, cotton buds and carb cleaner worked for me
-
Just describe it to the dealer in person and they'll figure it out. If they're unsure they'll just show you the diagram on their screen to make sure.

You can still buy the gaskets new from any toyota dealer, pretty cheap.
If you do a search, or it might even be in the stickies section, there's a guide on stripping and cleaning the IACV. If you get stuck then me or a few of the others can help.
If you buy a used part then you risk it being as bad. They don't really go wrong as such, just get full of gunk then seize. A clean should be all that's needed.
-
Yep, take it apart and clean the IACV and throttle body, will probably fix it for the price of two cheap gaskets.
When did it last have a full service BTW? New plugs, oil and filters make a big difference too, and not too ££

Is it vented properly? The motorbikes I had in the past always had a vent tube running off the filler
-
I imagine the difference is road legal plates and ones marketed as show plates. Road legal plates have to have the BS number (BS145 something?) and makers post code on, and they need to see your docs. Show plates dont and can be done over internet with no docs.

I've seen worse. Chuck in a set of standard NGK's, sorted.

Nice thread. I do like to see a car being kept original too
-
I've wondered that recently myself, as I've upgraded the master cylinder on motorbikes before and it made a huge difference in power and feel
-
I don't look at petrol price tbh, I just stick 25 or whatever amount in. But then I do use V POWER every time because of the cleaning addititives in it

In terms of profile I can give some recent experience. Iv not experimented with different sizes on the celica but on my daily driver fiesta I had 50 profile on before as I got them cheap. This time iv gone for the proper 55 profile and there's so much difference. The ride is so much comfier. And by comparison the front end crashed around over bumps before. Definitely not going 50 again. Especially as roads round here are crap

Subframe and floor pan rust
in General Celica Discussion

Wire wheel on a grinder will clean that up, then some rust treatment brushed on like Bilt Hamber then whatever paint or underseal you want. Bit of time but minimal cost to do yourself.
That spare wheel well looks suspicious though. Looks like that might go through on harder inspection. Hard to tell from pics though
