  5. It's a mohair roof and comes with the heated glass rear window.
  6. It was a chap called William(Bill) Ramsey. He is an upholsterer based in the Pentland Ind. Est. at Loanhead (Just on the outskirts of Edinburgh). He is an approved convertible hood fitter for car hood warehouse and various other hood manufacturers. He also appears to do alot of work for Audi and Mazda. Just for reference the full hood plus installation cost £810 inc VAT. He also gave the car a full vallet and also tidied up and cleaned the headliner.
  7. Well it eventually had to happen, I smashed the back window on the vert . I took the car to Toyota who were totally useless. After a lot of tutting and head scratching they decided that they have never seen one of these before and decided to seek advice elsewhere. They eventually got back to me after a week and told me that they could not replace the window section and that I required a complete new roof. I asked them for a quote and once again they said that they would get back to me. After three weeks of phoning them almost every day they gave me a quote of £2150. The price was to supply a new roof, supply a new window, sew the window into the roof and fit roof to car. I asked them why they could not just fit the new window section into my roof but they could not give me any answer other than their fitter said so. I then approached car hood warehouse who gave me a quote straight away and also supplied me with a local fitter. I took the car up last week and 3 days later I had a new roof and window fitted at under half of the cost that Toyota quoted. I am completely disappointed with the Toyota dealership regarding the amount of time it took for them to give me a quote and the total lack of interest they had for me and my car, but I am chuffed to pieces with the quality of service I got from the independant fitters and the new roof. I am now back enjoying my car
  8. Welcome and nice to see another vert in the club. Remember to post up them piccies.
  9. I know what you mean, the green stuff always comes back after a couple of months even after a good brush and especially when it is constantly damp. I thought about using a weak solution of algae cleaner (the stuff used in tropical fish tanks) but never got round to trying it. Maybe I will the next time if I remember
  10. I use the same method as Johndps but I use a slightly stiffer shoe brush. It takes a bit of effort but is well worth it. Also while I'm here, does anybody have problems with the roof hitting the back seat whilst lowering the roof? I put the roof down a couple of days ago to do some mtce and the top corner of the back window hit of the back of the rear seat as it folded down on the drivers side.
  11. Doh! I made my gallery private. If you try now it should be visible
  12. I dont know how to upload pics but i have put some photos in the gallery for aanyone who is interested.
  13. Does anybody like thier wife? java script:emoticon(':hide:') Hide Anyway she can just wear a thicker pair of thermals under her kilt. Anti roll bar bushes are fine on the vert, but i have not long done them on my SS2 along with pads and handbrake cable / shoes.
  14. I actually bought this for my wife so its not strictly mine but it's a 1996 red Gen6. I bought it of someone in the club from Swindon. I will put some pictures up later. The car needed a bit of work done to it when I bought it and ran pretty rough but this was reflected in the price I paid for it. So far I have had to replace the rear discs / pads, cat, plugs and leads and fit an airbox. I also had to weld the bar that goes between the front cross member and the front valence (just below the bonnet catch) as I noticed the bonnet was doing a lot of flexing when I was driving it home. The car in now more or less standard apart from the 17" wheels and runs really sweet now. The roof is in good condition apart from a few marks just to the back of the rear quarter windows (both sides) but I believe that this is pretty common. I also got the tonneau cover which was a bonus. Things left to do are sort out some small dings on the body, sort out one of the switches that opens the passenger side rear quarter window as this sometimes sticks and replace the timing belt as the service book was last stamped in 2003.
  15. Woohoo, I can post now. Please add me to the vert list. As for the rear spoilers on the 6th gen verts I believe these are the same as the ones fitted to the Toyota Curren.
