  1. After talking to a few people ur would point to the lambda. I'm not getting any error codes but it could be just working within it's range but not well. Think it might be worth me changing it as the car has done 85k now and 13 years old.
  2. Never mind..there's plenty of thing I've thrown then wish I'd kept...lol engine still over the place so somethings not reading right. I'll have Google about and see if ur ready will do it.
  3. Didn't realize that would work make. Thanks.
  4. Had a reply from the Bristol guy but unfortunately he don't roll anymore, did ask if he was willing to do it if I supplied the equipment but havnt got a replay back as yet. Also no reply from arch enemy as yet.
  5. If i can get 2 cheap it might be worth just changing them to rule them out..It so intermittent that's the weird thing.
  6. Been thinking lambda since i started having the problems but though i might of got an error code if it was that. Dont know if i can get them tested some how.
  7. Dont know what the hell is going on with my car but its really starting to get me down, the intermittent running problems is back, yesterday she ran rough and today she ran like a gallon of buttermilk going through a hound dog. What shall i do? I cant see it being the maf as im sure it would run rough all the time if this was shot. Maybe the ecu is on its last legs i dont know.
  8. Can everyone let me know if your interested in getting your arches rolled, This will be more for people nearer the south west as it seems the service seems easier in other parts of the country. I've contacted two companies of which one is located in Bristol to see about a group roll. I think if we can get 4+ we should be able to get a decent discount.
  9. Yes that as well baz but got fed up of resetting my head unit..lol
  10. I just pull the efi fuse out for 1 minute mark then replace. Mine runs like a dream then, but seems to be returning to running rough a few days after now.
  11. thats what i thought Dave, im sure it's working fine as it's been good since we fitted it. Now good again after the reset...weird.
  12. Just done a 30 mile round trip and all fine with engine..I only use shell fuel after finding out last year how bad supermarket fuel performs in the celica engines. I'll monitor the maf and see how long it is till I get a change in running. I may even just order another maf from ams. I love the sound that the debutterfly gives. Along with the new exhaust I hope to get fitted should be sweet.
  13. Yes ams I guess so it's been ok for a few months. Engine started playing up again ie: lumpy and power loss. Just reset and it's fine again..could it be the maf again breaking down. I'll see how long it keeps running ok. I've done the de butterfly mod, could this be a bad thing.
  14. For months I had some intermittent running problems with my prefacelift 140. The main problem was a dodgy maf so after being replaced the car regained it's response, smoothness and power. It's now about 4 months on since the change and the engine is returning back to it's old ways. I understand that the ecu in the vvti learns your driving style and adjusts to give proper air/fuel mixture. I've now reset the ecu and all is fine again.. this seems very weird to me and is a reset needed every few months or is there a problem somewhere. Most of my driving is short trips a few miles long into work and back..I only get a few miles on a bypass to open her up a little but generally the engine is not to temp so I can't push her to much. I know when the ecu needs a reset as the engine runs rough throughout the rev range.
  15. Ahh I see now..like splinter said a good bit of heat should do the trick hopefully. Good luck and hope u get the new ones on soon.
  16. I explained a little clearer in my mod thread but basically you hacksaw the part of the strut that connects to the ball joint in 2 places at about 45 degrees and then prize it off the ball joint.
  17. I didn't replace the ball joints, I just clipped the new ones on.
  18. Can't you just fit the new struts onto the balls or are they the pre fitted type.
  19. I had to hacksaw my old ones off. The part where the ball goes into the tailgate is very flimsy.
  20. I'll try and give them a ring Friday see about prices for a group roll.
  21. That's a good idea mark. They come as far as Oxfordshire but may do further afar if they had a group roll. ..lol
  22. Archenemy do mobile rolling but only come as close as Oxfordshire and they want £50 per arch..
  23. I only bent it up a few mm just to the point I felt the paint would split..bit of a bodge to be honest but it can't be seen...lol
  24. I managed to slightly bent up the lip with a protective ended clamp, only slightly as not to crack the paint..haven't had any more rubbing but I know I will with a bit more weight in..Can't find anywhere in Bristol to arch roll.
  25. Cheers mate thanks for the advice. I'm looking at smaller spacers now.
