  1. IMG_20200422_091427.thumb.jpg.474bdfc5ddcd2169670e59d515286da3.jpgHi,

This may be a silly question, but I need to order a battery charger from halfords and it says not for AGM batteries.

I currently have a Bosch S4 021 (45Ah), I cant see anything on the battery that identifies what type of battery it is e.g. AGM, Gel-Filled etc... unless Im missing something obvious

Does anyone know what type of battery I have?

    Thanks

  2. Hoping I'm looking into this too much, I need to order two new tyres (punctured one today, however they are showing a lot of cracks in the tyres, they have lasted nearly 4 years though).

I'm going with 215/45/17 Rainsport 3's, but the recommend load rating and speed rating seem to be 88W (560kg - upto 168mph).

    Uniroyal only do the following:

    - 87V (545kg per wheel - upto 149mph)

    - 91Y (615kg per wheel - upto 186mph)

    - 87Y (545kg per wheel - upto 186mph)

The celica weight it 1595kg, so surely I'll be ok with the 87Y (545kg x4 = 2180kg)???? or do I play it safe and go higher with the 91Y??

    Thanks

  3. Anyone noticing the petrol prices shooting up?

I always put vpower in my celica, however I'm seriously reconsidering, it gone from £1.25 to £1.27, then last week I paid £1.30 and today its £1.32.9.

I know the margins are small in the last view increases, however its the principle, does anyone use normal unleaded in there vvtli's? does the car run fine and smooth?

I've always stuck with vpower just because my car runs smoother on it

Anyway, just having a bit of a rant

  4. Am I losing the plot slightly here, Those so called bolts look more like a decorative rivet or sometimes called a rivbolt. I'm sure they are meant for a 1 use only, By removing them by turning them backwards and forwards you have actually broached the hole out to a larger diameter and worn the splines on the bolt so the chances of the rivbolts staying in place when refitted are greatly.diminshed.

Thats right mate, they are decorative. I didn't actually know what they were called.

One of the guys at the wheel refurb place said he would just glue them back in, however if I could locate some new rivets / rivbolts, I would go down this route instead.

  5. So if they are pushed in how did you get them out?

Are they metal? Is so we can just powder coat over them?

I just turn the bolts backwards and forwards until they where free to turn, then I used the bit, tilted it slightly in the bolt and pulled up and twisted. Once the bolt was enough out, I could get it with my hands. Hope this makes sense.

I'm not sure what material they are, but the back of them are soft (you can see it in the images above).

I'm not sure regarding the powder coating, I know when I'll be getting my wheels refurbed, I'll be taking all these bolts out, just because I want them to stay silver.

where can i get one of these from?

Not sure mate, I would measure the diameter of the bolt and search for a triple square bit.

  6. got some tech 5 wheels i am planning to get powder coated and want to remove the decorative studs, but need a hex key, called into local place and they only sold them in sets for about £27.00. does anyone know the size and where to get one??

The bit you need is a triple square bit (I was lucky and had one laying around in my toolbox).

The bolts are not screwed in, they are push in. Once there out though, you'll have to have them glued back in.

  7. It is awesome. I personally love it more than not, its also nice when you come across someone respectable (ie not a corsa or saxo) and beat them then sit at the lights talking to them about cars for a while. I got completely devastated by a Cupra R turbo on the motorway and for the next 15 miles we were just driving along shouting at eachother through the windows about eachothers cars, not like "Yours is shit... AHHH!" but having a conversation lol he even warned me with his hazards about a police car coming up ahead when i started getting a bit carried away.

Yes you'll come across some dicks, 90% of the time you'll be faster than them, and the other 10% of the time they're so stupid that you don't even want to try to keep up.

Best game ever if you get an exhaust is to make as much noise as you can in the multistorey or underground car park and place bets as to how many alarms go off and how long before security come out

Edit: So I've been told...

Those cupra r's are bloody quick though....

If I have to switch to a four door car, this is something I would consider with the K1 body kit on.

  8. Experiences of Toyota Dealerships and why I will never use them again:-

Bolton - These raised the cost of my service when I got my car MOT'd cheaper else where (so I decided to go somewhere else for the service).

Manchester Sale - Took the car for a servce, waited 20 mins for one of the technicians to tell me they couldn't get my car on the ramps because it was too low (I have a standard Gen 7 GT)

Manchester Swindon - Technician decided to put an extra half a litre of oil in the engine (this was 10mm over the maximum mark on the dip stick), this was also reported to Toyota GB - even the women on the other end of the phone could not believe it and said the technician should get a warning (This is the one thing that pi"$ed me off the most, the most basic thing to do to a car - filling the engine with oil)

So to sum up my experience - shite
