Yea how can lift in first kill the engine? Never heard that one before
-
fancy seeing you here lad
Haha, I've been watching my intake temps out of curiosity, I had an intake air temp of 39c before I even started the engine at one point
-
Also don't forget that the warmer the air (less dense) then it's easier to travel through at higher speeds meaning less work for the engine. That's why when car manufactures like Bugatti are going for the highest speed possible they do it in the hottest place possible
-
Put it this way, if it's 30c outside then with a stock air box, your intake temperature will be around 35c.
People with SRI's will be getting intake air temps in the 40s

Yea this is pretty normal behavior for a worn clutch, it's exactly what happened to mine. Eventually it got worse and when it got to the point that all I have to do is floor it to make it slip, I then got it changed but for now if you can make do without any launches for a while, you may as well get your use out of it

Carbon spark plug cover as part of Rays group buy
As you can see it has a perfect finish and fits perfectly.
Would recommend somehow clamping the spark plug cables down to allow the cover to fit flush as the cables cause it to bend up slightly.
10/10

Lol no worries done it myself enough times

That's not what he was askin Thomas lol it still has amber indicators he just meant at the very end of the cluster there is another light
I can't see why they would be illegal, just part of the sidelights to me

This is all fair and true and as u say each to their own, the way I see it though is I don't really think it matter which oil you use, 5w30 or 5w40 because I've never heard of anyone's engine failing due to the wrong oil.
I personally use 5w40 because my engine burned 5w30 ever so slowly. Also I do trackdays in it where the oil gets nice and hot so I figured 5w40 would be the safer option for that
-
Alternator will not work with the engine off.
He means usually the battery light should be on when the engine isn't running, but in his case that light isn't coming on
-
You mean, you'll be changing them after the 16th...
Lol nah I've got different wheels and tyres arriving today for that
-
Well since I've had the car it's done 10000 miles and this will be it's second change, been 6000 since I last changed it, which is why I'm not putting in longlife anymore
-
Well apparently millers is a proven oil so I don't know
I've currently got millers 5w40 fully synth longlife with a TRD oil filter in there at the moment and the engine is nice a quiet, doesn't really tick much at all at the weekend will be changing it for the Nanodrive oil again with a TRD oil filter so I'll see if much changes

Goodyear Eagle F1 or Uniroyal Rainsport 3.
Next.

Yea a friend of mine recently changed to superblue, made it real easy to changeI'll be using ATE Super Blue Racing I got from Euro Car Parts, when I get time to swap on the Avensis calipers. Yes the fluid is actually blue as per the name
Ahh I wasn't aware that DOT 4 and DOT 4 racing were different
See I'm going to be doing plenty of trackdays in it but it is also a daily driver. Worth going for DOT 4 racing or just go for a good DOT 5.1?
-
Hi guys I'm going to be changing my brake fluid for a top end DOT4 fluid but don't really have any idea as to what brand(s) are good
Could someone please advise? Money is no issue with this one
-
Pirelli and continentals if u want to go premium
Falkens for something more middle range
-
Give it a good solid drive first, 10 miles minimum to give the battery a chance to charge and see how you go. If it starts to fail again then I would go for the battery. Also check to make sure you've got no 'electrical leaks' as in there isn't any interior lights staying on overnight etc. check the boot light as well. No harm in doing a quick check over before spending the wonga
-
Toyota say DOT 5.1 but it depends on if your going to be stomping on the brakes hard
If your just going for average joe daily driving/fast road then I would just stick with a good 5.1
If your going to be tracking it then I would go with a top end DOT 4

What about power and performance in honingham?
-
It is an offence to use fog lights when it's not foggy.
Not just fog, anything which can cause severely reduced visibility, including heavy rain
-
Just ordered the ones in the link provided.... I don't need any holders or anything do i?
No not for sidelights, just a direct replacement
-
Sidelights I have in my car, won't get much better than these. Look bluer than my "6000K" HIDS, but im not so sure they are true 6000K
I went for what this thread recommended and they're are plenty bright enough, a true white colour too
