arent they both hatchbacks?

does it have a cooler pipe at the front like on the gen7 which tends to corrode and leak?

OK, just realised that's photoshopped
Convertible gen7 is apparently legit.

will get mine removed and take some pics at some point. too much rain these days

I need to get a move on with this and for curiosity sake take the ecu out of my gen7 and take the lid off to check its condition. Car is 23 years old now and its around this time caps start to give up. Got to catch them before they leak.
Anyone with a gen7 checked the ecu yet?
-
Mileage is only part of the story. Need to check condition especially underneath
-
Nasty capacitors. Can you change for polymer ones and be done with it for life?
Im wondering if i should take out my gen7 ecu and check its caps too to be on the safe side

Problem with that sort of price for a gen7 is that your in gt86 range and other options for 8 grand can get you considerably more power from turbo cars or bigger engine stuff like 350z etc.
My gen7 hurts me most with no ulez and road tax that keeps rising every year and was 320odd quid this year.
Hope you find a good home for it, would be good to get the surface rust treated and all undercoated which would attract more buyers who dont want to be doing work on it and just drive it for few years before having to mod/treat

Thanks will get a bottle of that stuff

Holy moly sounds costly. Do they still make new crank pulleys? If so how much, will remember to change mine if iv ever got it off.

Isopropyl alcohol is used for cleaning stuff, probably wont be an issue if you dont get all the ipa out the tank too probably get +10bhp on first tank of fuel lol

Do cheap stuff first, try changing gearbox oil and then see how it behaves

Autotrader is best

Can't just rinse it out with ipa?

Tcb and autodoc got them.

Motul is good for gearbox oil i use gear 300

seen this at tescos today, 10 year 300k miles life coolant and says its for all makes and models. 10 year change interval would save a lot of hassle for me and cash in long run but thats if its safe to use in the gen7. dont want to put something in thats gonna kill the cooling system over time.
what do you guys think?

anyone taken the lid of a gen7 ecu and got a photo of the board inside?

If its that smell if dampness check to make sure the drain hole on the bulkhead for the evaporator is not blocked. Iv seen many cars that when they have ac turned on the condensation water drains out the bottom but if drain hole is blocked then you get that dampness smell
-
Yikes condenser prices have skyrocketed. Will wait till mid winter thats when prices drop.

Got the lidl ultimate speed 5amp charger and seems to work well. My battery analyzing thing always says there has been some improvement to cca and internal resistance when battery has been left on the charger for 2 weeks.
