I'm in 2 minds what to do with mine. Go down a trackday route or turn it into a luxury cruiser (basically beige the $hiz out of every interior element with some chrome and walnut, with some lovely blue piping around the seats and insulation. Once it passes the MOT with no horror storiea. Think of it as a Masarati celica

I think I used to stick 10-30 in mine to keep the chatter down when cold. 5-30 works just as well though on a gen 7. 5-30 was what my research pulled up when I was looking at the 6's. The Helix is a good shout or gulf.

As much as I love Toyota they really dropped some some cod's - Why did they never put the 2ZZ engine in the MR 2. It was screaming at them.
Unfortunately Toyota are more concerned with efficiency - I mean take a look at this:-

The first official figure they mention is MPG.... Who buys it for the MPG - They have lost their ways - Too many board room meetings on CSR's me thinks...

Hi Spaff - I was after a C-One hood scoop but no such look. My brother lives over there though so if anyone ever needs any small parts he can send them over as a gift.
I was pretty ashamed at the celi's to be honest - Every one I come across was in poor condition, with body parts missing from them and truly neglected paint jobs.
There was 1 Gen 7 GT (U.S variant of the celicas) in chilli red which drove past the house every day which was in good condition
Seen a Gen 4 in a matt black that look so tired, and all plastics had yellowed. Such a shame.

Thanks Sherv, Will be going to NY centre at some point hopefully so can get a look at it. Is that the one near Governors island region ? I'm stopping in Bluepoint in the suburbs so that might be why theres a few more of them perhaps ? Think I need to start getting pics to prove it
Although, lots of Corvettes and Z06's which are just breathtaking...

Currently in NY, USA for the next week, and so far since I got here on Saturday - Seems to be a fair few Gen 7's knocking about. Unfortunately No other previous generations but it's a nice sign to see. Hours spent on the road driving I have seen more over here than in the U.K...

Then I went for kit car until I got rained on, then it had to go although I rebuilt this completely. Its a spartan, cortina mk4 based.
then I came to my senses and joined the celica world before leaving it again when my block cracked
And no they were most def not scooby wheels!!!!!
then I saw this and had to have it. Any guesses what it is?? prize is diddly squat
Had to sell it due to local mongs constantly trying to steal it
That was a sad day.then I got the vert so it all ended well
Sort of has the outline of the corvette stingray; but the lights are throwing me off?Do tell!

mmm...Skyline . As much as I have loved Celicas growing up - My dream cars have always been a Celica 190, VX220 2.2i, Lotus Exige and Skyline R34. I would love to have owned the Skyline. Very lucky to have had the opportunity!

Usually see women driving Gen 7's and men in all previous gens as an observation. I have noticed The younger Asian communities love a good Celica, or Civic.

Makes sense to me -See it a lot in coupling rod / pin joints with hardened pins used in the bushes. Was it 304 SS rubbing against the brass ?

Given from the above I would advise against using a softer metal to avoid the oval-ling scenario - Still though , that would take many a gear change though to wear a groove like that wouldn't it ? Looks like pretty bad wear, Mix.
Looking for my next Celica, is milage an issue?.
