  1. We live down in the village, I am based at Wit but currently on all my final leave etc we occasionally hear the thumps and bangs from the barracks as 5131 have fun blowing things up. D
  2. Second half of the year got back 1 Nov was working over at the Mighty Snow and Ice, I took over the running of the Kart club workshop whilst I was down there bit of a mess. I remember my last 6 weeks was nothing but blue skies so a nice finish to my last OOA im out in May. Dorris
  3. There is always the Kart club for a bit of a fix if you can call it that. Never noticed a Celica last time I was down there back in 08. Cant see a Gen 5 lasting long with all that salt air, mind you some of then roads down there would make great rally stages, Id love to find out how quick I could get from MPA to Stanley in my GT4. Dorris
  4. There is no minimum time limit on a SORN certificate; it’s all done by computer these days using the bar code or the V5 reference number. Dorris
  5. As the others of said but it is vital not to over torque the bolts as it will be so easy to crack the casing. I have also had the same issue on all mine 3S engines but I have actually found a cure. Clean the 2 surfaces, apply a bit of gasket sealant then use hex or Allen head bolt but the secret is to use spring or shake proof washers between the head of the bolt and the plain washer, ie bolt head, spring washer, plain washer and casing. I have found this stops the leaks. Dorris
  6. The guy deserves all the humiliation he got for being such a knob, Id much prefer him to have tried going the other way up the curb lol. I’m all for lowered cars etc but that was just stupid. D
  7. This car has turned up before and not so long ago, for the life of me i cant remember where, i have a sneaky feeling it might belong to someone over on the GT4DC, if i remember i'll let you know. Dorris
  8. I got all mine off the car, steam cleaned, stripped, degreased, painted them with red oxide primer first and then with red Hammerite, even after 2 or 3 coats it looked a bit thin and naff, I think I used 4 coats over a space of a week. I painted the underside first let it dry then did the tops last, when completely dry I finished off by put some heat resistant white Celica graphics across the out side edge of the caliper. They looked sweet when I finished them and put them on the car but after a few miles of brake dust they don’t stand out as much now. It is a bit of a long slow process waiting for the paint to dry properly. Dorris
  9. An adjustable rear anti roll bar is always a good choice; I have no problem with the feel of my CS and get plenty of feel through the steering and that’s before the ARB. Have you had all your tracking checked and what set up are you running in the way of suspension and wheels etc? Dorris
  10. The best I've had out of my 182 with a slightly slipping clutch I must add was 360 miles and about a hundred miles less out the CS however the gt4 was massively over fuelling. Dorris
  11. Maybe a little out your way but Rutland water LE15 8PX throws up plenty of opportunities; we are actually classes as east midland. Just an idea, Dorris
  12. Minimum of 1.6mm of tread across the tyre, if your tracking is out this can kill your tyres very quickly and so can the wrong camber by lowered springs. Your brakes will probably be sorted with a good brake service; did they give you a print out from the Roller Brake Tester? This will tell you where your problems are. Dorris
