  1. I've just fitted a BM Catalysts, standard oe exhaust to my SR. The difference in how the car is performing with a new exhaust is just astounding, it's all witchcraft to me, but obviously a good fitting/condition exhaust makes a difference.

I painted it with Rustoleum stove and bbq paint on my manifold, downpipe and CAT (it comes in silver and black). It smokes a bit as it cures when you run the engine but not for long. It's held up quite good so far. I painted the centre and back box with Carplan heat resistant Aluminium paint .. That's looking ok so far after 100 mile since fitting :)

  2. Ok so I've tested a clear contact adhesive to fit rubber pads to my fuel tank, which has been painted with hammerite smooth black. I don't think it's going to hold them, it just rolls off by rubbing with finger.

Is there anyone out there that knows of a good product for sticking rubber pads to a painted surface, I have no idea what toyota used originally. Much obliged and desperate as I'm fitting the tank tomorrow... Hopefully.

I was thinking of using that double sided webbed tape stuff if I can find it they use for sticking laminate etc.

    Cheers Joel

  3. I have 16" Momos that came as standard on the SR. The tyre size that is correct for me is 205/50/r16 with a V or above rating. I'm actually running with 205/55/r16 because they were slightly cheaper and should not affect the speedo reading a great deal. The wider the tyre you get ie 215 or 225 the more tram lining and road noise you get and the more expensive it gets. I know this as when I got my car it had 225/45/r16 on and they wern't nice at all. They rubbed slightly on full lock turning also. I'm very happy with 205/55r16 running on about 32/33 psi. Hope this helps.

  4. Unfortunately in Cardiff it's a persistent problem with car side windows being smashed, especially in student areas, I never EVER! Leave anything on show in the car, not even small change on show, the bastards think nothing of putting the window through just to see what you've left. Ive seen people leave stupid things in their car before and hey presto the following morning they have a mess to sort out.
