  1. Hey guys.

Very wierd thread but gunna ask it anyway just to be safe.

As some of you know my clutch has started slipping. It only does it in 1ST and 2nd So far and doesn't do it all the time. Im very cautious when im driving now cause probably won't be able to get it fixed for a couple of months. Not good i know. Money's really tight at the mo.

How should i be driving the car? Change gear at low revs each time? Change gear at higher revs? At the moment im changing gear between 3000 for 4000. Sticking it in neutral and taking foot off the clutch when stopped at lights or roundabout.

  2. Here's the link to the one i was looking at. And when i emailed them to ask if it would fit on a 1997 celica, they said no, only newer cars with phantom aerials.

So from what they said, all i can think of is the connection is different that plugs into the aerial lead. Or are they all the same in older and newer cars?

  3. Just read the link you posted, silver, and im a dickhead. Everytime I've been arming the alarm, I've been double pressing the button thinking it was a more secure lock. But now I've learnt that double pressing it, deactivates the interior protection. Well from now on im only gunna press it once. Cheers for the link dude.

  4. Right i've had a look at that diagram you sent to my email, planc, and where the diagram says the sensor should be, there's nothing. I've got my handbrake next to the drivers seat, then an ash tray next to that and behind them both is the junk compartment. Here's a picture to show you.

Was the diagram definitley for a gen 6 1997 GT?

And once again i gotta use photobucket cause it its too big to upload.

Can someone please tell me if there is definitely a sensor inside the car that sets the alarm off if a window breaks or someone's arm comes through an open window.

  5. Planc, can ya email me that diagram you mentioned? Just So i know where this sensor is. So the gen 6 facelift GT definitely comes with an internal sensor for the alarm which covers windows being smashed. I suppose there's one way i can find out. Ill leave the widow half down, arm the alarm, wait a minute and stick my arm into the car. And Hope it goes off.

  6. So is it the block that has a red light that flashes when the alarm is armed Cause i can see that which is near the handbrake. But i thought that was just a light to say the alarm is armed. So is that the sensor? I tried sending you a pm from my phone but for some reason the link don't work from my phone cause its crap. Lol. So my email address is scorps1212@sky.com. Cheers dude. And no, i wasn't aware i could programme more remotes into it. So i can buy just a remove with funky buttons on and get it programmed to my alarm system?

  7. Oh right. Mines the facelift model then. Mine's 1997.

Right i've taken pictures of the dash to show you guys. I can't see a sensor anywhere on the dash. The pictures probably won't load up so i'll have to paste the links to photobucket. LOL.

In one of the pictures im pointing at a circle bit on the drivers side so don't know if thats it. And in another picture im pointing at the LED that flashes to let people know there's an alarm in the car. But thats all i can see. I cant see any sensors guys.
