  1. I tend to use WD40 or GT85. Can't really say which works best had good and bad results from both. If i know i have a job coming up that will require moving stubborn nuts bolts i tend to dose them up for a few days before doing the job. I know that's not always the case and have to do them as and when you get to them. I think unless your in the trade and have to use the stuff all the time that WD40 GT85 is OK to use and mainly gets the job done.

if you buy a new matrix then you can do it without removing the dash as it will come with new clips

A used one - if you open the clips you wont get them back on - so I supply them with the pipes as well. to fit it complete - to fit that the dash needs to come out. A lot of people chops the pipes half way on the old and new and join with rubber hose so that you dont have to get the dash out.

I have one good matrix left if you do want to get a used one.

Can you pm me a price with delivery please Ams. Chopping the pipes off and rejoining whit hose is a good idea.

  3. Guys i may have to replace the heater core in my 2001 190 vvt-i . I have a leak and the carpet is wet more than likely the core but may be a hose but doubtful . So my question is does the dash have to come out on the gen 7 to replace it like it does on earlier models . Had to take it out on my gen 5 when i replaced that one.

  4. They are both double filament on each side. So basically if i disconnect the inner 2 lights from the brake side of the circuit and wire that to a fog switch to work as fog lights . Leave the side light one as is to stay working as tail lights. That way both tail lights on either side will still work as tails and the inner ones will work has fogs instead of brake.

    Cheers mate.

I done it years ago when i had the gen 5 but have no idea how i done it as was following a guide which i can't seam to find now. Wanted to do the same thing on the new jdm supra as it should be the same idea.

    Cheers guys.

  6. I use BP Ultimate most of the time but have on the odd occasion put in regular. The only difference i do notice is sometimes on low revs their is a bit of a engine ping. So i do try to use the supper mainly.

the led side lights I used on my GT4 and Tsport only seem to last a few weeks anyone recommend some good ones...bear in mine the Gen7 uses 10 in the custom headlights

    cheers

Most of us use Cree mate i have had mine in over a year now and still going well and on the plus side they are a nice crisp White the same has the super White hid's i have in the head lights.

  8. Yep definitely illegal only White. Hid kits at 6k is what i use if you start going over 6k then you are going in the colour range and will loose light. Anything over 6k is turning Blue then Purple with less light and more colour.

  9. The C-One was for the facelift but suit and fit the preface very well  The wings are the R21 with built in vents The rest is TRD side skirts, rear spoiler and rear lip. The halos are 70mm in the lights and 60mm on the new fog lights Bonnet vents are rs vents cut in and functional. Takes time mate i have had this one for 4 years now and was standard when i got it. Lowered 40mm

Hey cheers Shaun I'll get a set of them I do like that front-on look of your car n that splitters cool what about blue glass tinting film dyou know if that ones legal on the lights I've just bought a load to do my side-windows too?

    Cheers buddy.

Front splitter is a C-One. The Blue tint not sure i would say that would be down to individual mot station tester and police discretion. I have seen tinted front lights who have had no problems with police or mot.

    Vented wings to.

  11. Personally i think all cars should have an mot check. Most people on hear would agree even if your cars are up together they would still mot it. Take new cars from the factory they don't get an mot for the first 3 years. How many people know of the new cars taking their first mot after 3 years that have failed and that's only 3 years from new.

It's a stupid idea. OK enthusiasts do tend to look after their cars bikes ect better than Joe blogs. Some are no mechanic and have work done for them and wouldn't necessarily realise or notice something was wrong.

  12. I have no idea. When i replaced mine they worked straight away. Their should be no reason why lift won't work. He said 3 track days that's a lot of time and hard acceleration . I have never herd anyone say that it didn't work for any amount of time either.

  13. No special tools needed

If you have no leak now from the rocker gasket then no it will be fine to put back on.

The only place you may need a gasket sealer is the vent pipe that is fixed to the front of rocker cover if you damage the gasket taking the vent off.

No problems unless you have any broken lift bolts.

You can take both out first if you like I just did them one at a time

You don't need to put anything on the threads as their will be oil in the bolt holes anyway

You wont need to do anything else while doing the bolts apart from checking the chain if you have a more than usual rattle from the chain.

Allow your self an hour but normally only takes half that time

The bolts don't need to be wore in before you use lift just warm the engine first like normal

I am old school and didn't use a torque wrench but work on engines all the time so got a feel for tightness of the bolts ect. So basically use one if you feel the need
