  1. updated my vote, worked out around 490 per month... (good or bad only time will tell!....) considering she has pretty much sat for 5 weeks doing nowt, not a bad average
  2. I don't think for a minute Paul will be dishonest, if you read it he has told you more than most sellers would its an honest thread. Not trying to dis you bud, just a general statement to Celicas. Hopefully however he will change his mind and keep her!!
  3. agree totally bud, but as we have seen so many times, the only way to recoup some of your 'love' for want of a better expression, is to strip the parts back to standard. or worse break a car that has been built for a reason. Everyone wants something for nothing these days..... chavs/ neds want Hondas and Nissans. Celicas are unsung heroes, as such the money aint there unless you are lucky!
  4. Noooooo not another one!!! Gutted you feel this mate, was lucky enough to both be a passenger and allowed to scrutinise this car, its a beast, just look at his siggy..... would hope someone will buy this complete, and if they do, they have stolen it by the way!! and before you say it, I would if I could. love this car......
  5. OOOh like the velour, this would work on plastics, but never stick to linings, as per Flocking, you would be better (and quicker) researching on Google (other browsers are available!) TBH not 100 % but believe its a sort of fluid coating which will require removal of liner and a couple of days treatment (or buy another one!) kinda like the Fablon spray on wall coating from the late 70's
  6. Anything can be painted! fabric paint would give better results, but slow light coats would be paramount. You could Flock it for best finish but would be more expensive. Assume the Gen 7 lining is similar material to Gen 6
  7. I can get my hands on an oil catch can, the question is are these beneficial to NA engines or only worth it on Turbo engines. Cheers J
  8. I have 40's on the current wheels, had 45's on the previous ones. The ride is noticably harsher on 40's and as I live in Scotland, every journey involves potholes. have buckled 2 wheels recently. getting them fixed next week and will be shod in new 215 45 17 rubbers. 40's do look cool, but car also sits too low for the numerous speedhumps around here, seem to remember a calculation of 7mm lower.... its a toss up between cool and bank balance!!
  9. look through adverts on Pistonheads and other expensive sales websites and collect a few ads with similar cars on high asking prices, push for full insured value (hoping you have car insured for decent amount). God luck bud (oh and you can always try to buy it back off the insurance for scrap value later). Depending on how bad the roof is will depend if its repairable, usually however roofs are too much hassle to repair as its very hard to get them looking flat again!.
  10. theres a Gen 7 going for peanuts on Celica Freaks on FB, but that and keep the 6. Job Done!!
  11. no doubt, I have heard that car mentioned a few times!!! will be interesting to see what the long term inmates... sorry members will come up with.
  12. pretty much am doing it from the start, but would not have bought any of the Alloys I bought (currently have 18). Steelies for me!! would I have bought a better one.... no, I bought a scrapper, If I had spent a fortune buying one, I would not have got to know it so well and would not love it as much!! best £250 of my life!!
  13. Mr Mondo (the god of leather!) advised me on Baby wipes with lotion, now use them on the car and the near 8 metre black leather couch in the house (we don't have sofas in Scotland!!) none of your cheap Asda stuff mind you, Johnsons all the way!!
  14. Eh sorry????? may want to rephrase that statement dude!!! in case Jan finds out!!!
  15. Happy Anniversary celicamojo!

  16. As it says on the tin, I need two alloys repaired, there are a few adverts in the Motor Market Weekly, mostly located in Glasgow. Anyone know of a good one anywhere in the central belt Cheers J
  17. yep, unless something untowards happens, will txt / PM on friday bud.
  18. Sold!! not been running well since I got it back from Ex wife (says it all really!!) bit of tweaking required, really want to try this for 'research' purposes only...... need to get Al's S13 (Kato) running before Sunday first however!!!! - he blew another engine this week!!!!
  19. was having second thoughts due to the fact that this is now the only car I have and don't want to break this one as well!!! but then again........ spannertime!!! cool!
