Seems a reasonable price...£100/BHP....

Haha yeah i know you did mate, dubs will be dubs!!! Tbh it is a good idea but i dont think it is feasable i mean if you were to knock up a 'pump' you would just be talking about a supercharger but in smaller measures and less power...unfortunately without the pressure to force it through the system i think you will cause more problems due to intake air flow...closest i believe you will get on an N/A engine is a cold air intake taken from the fog light housing on the bumper
-
I believe dubs was sarcastically describing a turbo charger...

Usually on bare metal you would use an etch primer to help it adhere to the metal...
So etch primer
Primer
Base
Clear

My old one was N302OGC

Yeah they really dont care...failing that you can always put it in gear...lift the clutch and turn it on the starter...that will allow you to move the car even if the engine wont start

I'm guessing the quality of the compressor is more important. All the gun has to do is to mix some sand particles into the air and unlike paint I don't think the even distribution is as critical.
A good point, well made
My compressor is pretty good so i should be alright
-
Ok well by the sound of it cheap doesnt mean awful when it comes to sandblasting
Cheers guys

So i am looking to refurb my alloys and though it might be wise to get a sandblaster to make the job easier.
1. Do i really need one?
2. I was looking at this http://bit.ly/NUJGxq
I have an air compressor and was just wondering if anyone has had any experience of this or a similar item?
Cheers

Spot on mate

How much roughly do you think they will come out at?
-
Gold would be perfect for my scheme you considering producing these then?
-
That looks awesome!!! And would be even better in gold
-
Yes those are the 6 needed and yes they only come with the arms. If you do get all new arms, it may be a good idea to get new 48703d and bolts too for camber adjustments as im sure itll be seized.
Camber adjustments??? Tis fixed on a 6 isnt it?
-
Well if you are feeling lucky...

Yep i was at toyota the other day, can only buy the arms with the bushes in and at £135 an arm i should go down to the breakers haha
-
Haha yeah they are nice....porsche actually use the same system but it is throttle regulated (foot to floor = silencer bypass) but i digress haha back on topic now....bloody police!!!
-
Was it the new Jag?
If so probably the sports exhaust they come with, with a sports button to open it up too
Did someone watch top gear last night?
-
The workshop manuals. Those bolts should've been done up at about 75Nm, IIRC.
Wow...my wheels nuts are 100NM and a little 13mm bolt is not gonna have 75nm on it...or i would be very surprised if it did....ford have 28NM for caliper bolts
-
So you never used a torque wrench....where would you find out what torque to set it at??
Precisely i use a torque wrench for everything that i can find a torque figure for but when i cant...tight and some loctite
-
Funny you should have this happen as i was walking back to my old ST after work one night and noticed the caliper didnt looks right and the upper bolt had dropped out down the road...now i loctite all of my brake caliper mounting bolts so i know they wont fall out

Its was a 12 point socket, I have no 6 point ones are they much better for not slipping
Just paid £60 for a halfords one, wish I had seen the teng 6 point set now
Its a set screw not a bolt
I have ordered one of the sets from the link so that might work
Yeah unless the head of the bolt is nearly all rust then a CORRECT SIZE 6 point socket will nearly always work as the surface area connecting the socket and the head is far greater as apposed to relying on just the corners of a head which can easily be rounded off even on new bolts haha
I would definitely reccomend a set if you are working on an old car haha
-
i am assuming that you rounded it by using a multi-hex socket so my first try would be try a 6 sided socket on the bolt...you may be surprised...if not then next step is what Adex recommended

I left mine a week and was fine in summer
Haha left mine in the rain 3 days and got bad results haha

Haha when you look at it that way it seems quite steep but then again 10bhp isnt to be mocked tbh
