  5. checked the sparks and they are normal colour. Exhaust is normal too. the garage just plugged it in and that'd the only fault it came up with. He said 9 times out of 10 its a air leak. He had a listen around and thinks it might be coming from the throttle body/or manifold. I have a video on here somewhere to which when you throttle up there is a delay in the revs. when you blip the throttle it sounds like its sucking in air for a split second and then revs. When I'm driving and thrash her a little it feels like your gently touching the brakes ever few seconds as it goes up the rev range. I've got some olds bits of pipe from another car somewhere so thought I would try replacing one pipe at a time to see if I find anything first off. cheers for the replies all
  6. Hey all, garage says I have lean fuel. So before I start pulling the pipes apart and checking inlet manifold/throttle body gaskets etc I wondered if there was anything else that can cause it? I've checked and cleaned the maf and exhaust sensor btw. Any info much appreciated Lee
  7. I Use to have a mazda which they smashed the wing mirror off and ran over the car! (foot prints) And two weeks ago I found two dollops of paint on both my head lamps and it run down. Marked the lights but I got most of it off luckily. First I thought it was just spray of the road but then went out to my car two days ago and found another on my drivers side head light. Its crackled and stained it far worse now so will have to get a new one at some point! Theres loads of chavs up my road. When I found my car like it I felt like knocking on every door and smashing there faces in but the missus said that probably wouldn't be such a good idea. A bit over the to I know as I don't know if it was even them. With kids nowadays though, its more than likely. I feel really sorry for the guys who have had fast worse. Maybe wer could all start a vigilante celica group? :/
  8. Any One suggested the fuel cap? Kinda in the middle of no where in the middle of the wing. Always thought that was a bit odd!
  9. My Missus says "what's not to like about it" so she gives it the thumbs up! Only thing she doesn't like is me moaning about it when shes getting fixed! (the car, not the missus)
  10. It Doesn't look cracked as such but just very un smooth. Looks like its rippled, almost like some one has very finely dribbled all over it!! I'll get some pics up of it!
  11. Hi All, just a quick question about the poly sunroofs. I'm having difficulty getting a shine from it as it tells you not to polish our use glass cleaner etc. Any one got an idea if its possible? Cheers Lee
  12. Ah thank you celicababe and mrgtfour. will look forward to its arrival
  13. basically just wondered how long it takes to get through? Just want my stickers so I can help advertise and show that I'm one of the family
  14. Cheers Trickata! Mine definitely have none of springs shown. I'll get some ordered on friday when I get paid.
  15. Hey All. when i brought my car, she had new discs and pads all round. Recently have noticed a little rattle coming from my left rear wheel. So jacked her up and had a look and noticed I can actually wobble the brake pads slightly. The same for the other side too. I have a feeling that when they replaced them they forgot to put the springs back that stop any play in the pads. Any ideas where I can get hold of new ones?
  16. Really? My manual said 1.9. Not sure about the fully synthetic.
  17. Cheers jo3 and planc, I had a look and lo and behold, I stupidly was looking at the wrong engine and was trying to un do the wrong nut!!! Was about to do it this afternoon and the heavens opened up Got myself some correct oil now so I'll get on it after work tomorrow and see how she runs. The garage is adamant its a faulty clutch I brought. They have even ordered me a new one! Cheers again lads, relly is a big help. Dmc, the code for the gear box oil is - Api gl-4 or gl-5. Sae75w-90. Halfords and b&q sell the stuff but people on here may well know better oils out there
  18. Christ... Been going on about my clutch and gear box on here for ages now in different topics but trying to simplify the question. Car crunches in reverse and hard to get into first and All gears are a little notchy after having the clutch replaced! As in cover, clutch plate and thrush bearing. Put the gears into reverse, foot down on clutch and my old man can rock the car back and forth with just his finger. The same for all gears so pretty sure the clutch isn't nipping. thought I would check the gear box oil and I couldn't even get the oil filler nut undone. Also looks like there is oil at the drain plug. Now if I'm correct, that's a sure sign of the oil not/never being topped up after either a leak or having been drained? Question is, can the low oil cause the crunch as I know it can cause notchy gear change? The car changed gear lovely before I had the clutch done. Cheers for reading. Lee
  19. No, ha ha. Insolentminx said that lowering my car would make a nice adjustment
  20. You Read my mind Insolentminx
  21. Cheers bazz54 I brought the whole kit, clutch plate, pressure plate and thrush bearing. So from what i know of it should all e new. I'll have a look at the slave cylinder and see if the seals have gone. Is there any where that you can get information on the travel of the slave cylinder? My manual doesn't really mention about it :/ Cheers again.
  22. I took it back there to day. They checked all the linkages and pipes, spent about two hours on it! They said that everything seems normal. So the explanation was the clutch must be faulty. the clutch pedal feeling soft once getting near the floor was what confused me. I was wondering the same about slave cylinder. Is there any info on how far it should move as mine does move a fair bit. Problem is it might have had the problem for a while as the clutch was well gone and I'm guessing would need less pressure to open it than a new one. So if the slave was leaking slightly would that be enough to allow the clutch to catch? Either way, cheers Tctech, its given me something else to look at. Really hope its not the clutch :/
  23. yes they are fox wheels. Came with the car and i must admit i kinda like them too Cheers
  24. Hi all. Recently had a new clutch kit fitted at a local garage and since they have done it, I get a crunch and grinding noise when going into reverse and also its difficult to get into first gear ( I've already started a similar thread). I have noticed that when I press the clutch to the floor, most of the way down seems fine but when I get about an inch or so from the floor the pedal becomes soft. I have rebled the clutch a number of times as did the garage so there is definitely no air in the line. Has any one got any suggestions to what the problem may be. Cheers Lee
