i had a full system years ago, not good quality materials and the fabrication is ok.
-
yeah gonna use the heat shrink this time along with soldering the joint
-
tried all of the ones in my area (south manchester) and none had any of the offer oils
-
is it a g7 wheel - if so then the detonator should be standard - you can have one if you can pick it up
Its a genune trd steering wheel.
Thats for the offer ams, but i will try and get the horn wire off the wheel first, solder it, then fit it back onto the wheel.
-
cheers mate.
Yeah this is a trd steering wheel.
Blue and black type
Waiting for a guy who has another trd steering wheel for sale, but isnt the fastest in emailing me the pics of it lol
-
unplug the bottom connection there and solder on
u mean where the single wire is connected to the steering wheel plate?
Is that a bolt holding it on?
-
Use a detonator from another air bag instead - just unbolts with them 4 nuts
so its safe to unbolt the detonator? As if thsts the case, will unbolt it, and then solder the horn wire as it will not be connected to it then

Hi
I have a broken horn wire on a steering wheel.
I have crimped it in the past, but it slowly breaks just after the end of the crimp due to the steering wheel obviously turning constantly.
Now i know how to solder wires, BUT, as this wire is coming from the back metal plate of the actual airbag, is it safe to solder it together again? as i dont want the heat from the soldering to set off the airbag!
Are there anymore options?
Here is the picture of how the steering wheel was when i originally had it.
Its the single yellow wire on the top left corner of the airbag with a white plug that fits into the spinal yellow/black thingy that sits infront of the steering wheel lol.
cheers

greddy gauges are worth good money, maybe too much considering they are 2nd hand etc.
I managed to get 2 sets of greddy gauges with all wiring for a very very good price.
Also found genuine greddy sandwich plate and water sensor for next to nothing a few weeks later.
Looked for ages and all come within a month of each other

I've used that myself & it does seem good, a lot cheaper on their website but only used it after I have used a rust converter first
http://www.rust.co.uk/buy-fe-123-best-in-every-test-/p405034/
What you linked to I used after I had converted the rust as a top coat
so converter it then epoxy mastic over it yeah?
Ive had my car underside done, but turns out the paint he used is porous, which is no good.
So do i have to wire brush this coating off then use the converter and mastic?

5w40 is what I run in my 3sgte.
cool, will see if i can find some in the morning
-
so this is one of the best to paint underneath car?
so just wire brush and apply?
-
will check mine tomorrow.
is 5w-40 ok for a gen 6 3sge? as 10w-40 is the norm
-
Well, went to view the car, the hood was quite tatty and there was a lot of issues that were not listed, not major but I wasn't aware of them from the listing. The other issue was the 4WS as it wasn't mentioned in the ad, I assumed it didn't have it so after some deliberation decided not to go through with it.
think u did the right thing, could be a load of things more u havnt found out yet

Was well happy with them that i have even bought a full set for my daily drive (astra).
Again very happy with the quality!

Had a chance to catcth a chat with my eldest daughter today. When I'm not here they let themselves in and mess my stuff around and stock my fridge like im an invalid.
...anyway, a few days ago my eldest took my car down to the shops (about 3 miles) and put either 20 or 30 pound in the tank - she cant remember - so the figure I gave you is obviously not right, but not too far out me thinks...?!
I am interested now to see what my car can do to a tank because so far I am seriously impressed with every single thing about the old girl.
So, tonight I have topped her up again - brimful - and I will keep a record of the kind of driving I am doing and the length of my journeys etc and take a pic of the needle+milo when I am low on fuel (I took one already when I filled up and re-zeroed the Milo
Same pic without flash on...I'd like to brighten the display but everything I have seen advertised promises fairground type brightness but is all I want is something akin to the brightness it showed when the car came out.
Does anyone know what would normally be used by the blank that I have circled in this pic, its obviously an extra that I haven't got but might be something I may want in the future.
Space for aircon optional extra

Its a corolla part from approx 1993

Ahh, so thats a picture of that worm light you have.
Doesnt look the same as the one i was looking for, i.e. genuine toyota one that was made for the gen 6.

Hi all
Im doing a 3sge beams conversion into my 1.8st celica soonish, but for the conversion to work, i need to use the beams speedo as it has special connections/wires etc (so my original 1.8st speedo/clocks wont work).
Any ideas how to match the mileage from one to the other? (Car has been sorned for 4 years so mileage must be spot on tbh).
Can the mileage dials section be swapped over?
I know clocking is illegal but are there other options that can help with my problem?
Ive tried sourcing similar mileage clocks but still out.
Mileage difference on the clocks are 30k out
-
can you list them all though
Lol, yeah probably, but i bet there is a few i dont know about also

gen 6 had tons of optional extras available

Though i didnt think gearbox oil would be that much lol
